3. Update from our seminarian, Josh
Woods
Click the graphic to see the update!
ST. SIMON'S - LET'S HELP JOSH WITH HIS VESTMENTS!
It is tradition for the "sending" parish to purchase
vestments for their seminarian. As Josh enters his
final year of seminary, he needs vestments for his
field ed parish and beyond. I still use the Cassock and
Surplice my sending parish gave me in seminary!
Josh has found the Cassock and Surplice he would
like. We would like to raise $1000 to take care of this
expense and get something that will last Josh a long
time.
If you can help, please designate your gift to "Josh
Woods Vestments". Thank you, this will mean so
much to Josh as he prepares for ordination and his
service as an Air Force chaplain.

4. Nursing Home Visits Nursing homes are scattered throughout our
community. They vary in size, location and
amenities, yet all share one thing in common. All
have lonely people living inside.
Studies suggest that 60% of all nursing home
residents are alone. They have NO ONE who reliably
visits, writes or calls. Sadly, there is no easy fix for
addressing this pervasive and growing problem of
loneliness. But there are ways we can help. Here’s
one idea.
Each month, Outreach
members visit Emerald Coast
Nursing Home. We celebrate
birthdays, pass out some
needed hugs and engage
residents in some serious
rounds of bingo. Our visits
don’t last long and they don’t provide a lasting cure
for loneliness. But they do provide a sign of caring
presence that conveys this much needed message to
lonely residents: You are remembered, valued and
loved.
Our visits to Emerald Coast Nursing Home occur at
2:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. We
invite you to consider joining us.

5. Sending Love from the Homefront We're preparing Care Packages for two parishioners
who are away on military deployments. Donations
of nonperishables like jerky, candy and nuts are
welcomed and can be dropped in the military care
box in the atrium. We're leaving lots of space for
expressions of care to be tucked inside our boxes.
So please stop by the Healing Touch table and write
a note of support, encouragement, or appreciation
to send to our members who are serving far from
home.
6. School Snack Collection on Pause A big THANK YOU to
everyone who contributed
school snacks this year.
Your contributions helped
ensure that students at
our adopted public school
Page 3
didn’t go hungry because their families couldn’t
afford non-essentials like school snacks.
Snack collection is now on pause for school vacation
and will resume in August when students return to
their classrooms.
7. Meeters & Greeters Needed! Please sign-up to be a meeter/greeter as we start-up
our new Front Door Ministry. Teams will be set-up
according to service times and will rotate on a 4-6-
week schedule. PLEASE JOIN US!!!
For questions, contact Elle Estes at (850) 830-0170
or elleestes5@gmail.com.
8. Fr. Jack’s Kitchen Father Jack’s kitchen could really use more socks and
hotel size toiletries. If you have any of these items
please place them in the basket in the atrium. Thank
you in advance! -Jennifer Lee
