DARLA SKIER COMPLETES HER SERVICE AS CHURCH ORGAIST
Tomahawk Baptist Church is grateful for the steady worship leadership that Darla Skinner has provided over
many years for us, and we here express our heartfelt appreciation for her willingness to serve the church in
such an important capacity. Thank you, Darla! May God bless your gifts and your family as you continue
other experiences of service at Tomahawk and elsewhere!

Updates MICHAEL SEPULVEDA RESIGNS With heartfelt emotion TBC heard our Associate Pastor for Youth and Children resign effective August 31, after seven years of ministry at Tomahawk. Michael and Allison will remain in Richmond for the time being, having just recently received his Master of Divinity degree. A reception will be held at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall on Mi-chael's last Sunday here (August 29th). We thank God for Michael and Allison's leadership, talents, and friendship here, and wish them, along with Kaitlyn and Jason, God's very best. Thank you, Michael, for years of service and care, and may God direct your path! ---------------- In the light of Michael's resignation, the Personnel Committee has met and will continue meeting to explore options for this position. Several possibilities are being explored, including (1) electing a Search Committee for that full-time staff position, (2) choosing a part-time interim plan in order to assess our needs and give immediate next leadership to maintain Youth and Children's ministries in the Fall and Winter. Feel free to offer your thoughts to Darla Skinner (Chair), Elsie Dillard, and Richard Moore (newly elected Personnel member), and pray for God's wisdom as we look ahead in ministry! JOYCE TILLER TO WED, RESIGN! Our efficient and jovial church secretary has been made an offer she can't refuse, and plans to leave us by August 26 (next week!) in order to take a spouse in matrimony. We shall miss her willing spirit, her efficient work, and her smiling face in the Tomahawk front office, and wish God's blessing and joy for her life in the years ahead! Take a moment to express your gratitude to Joyce when you have a chance! The Personnel Committee is at work preparing an ad for the secretarial vacancy at Tomahawk, is meeting with Joyce to identify the work and job description, and plans to interview candidates as soon as responses take place.
TRANSITION TEAM MEETS AUGUST 29 Your Transition Team is meeting after worship on Sunday, August 29th, to solidify plans for three Fall Community Conversations with the entire church family. Please place these three dates on your "to be here" calendar: Sep-tember 12, October 24, and November 21--each at 6pm--for us to look first at the heritage of TBC's past, then its present strengths and challenges, then its vision and primary purposes for the future. Please continue to pray for the church as we look to its future under God! EMILY HODGES CONCLUDES SUMMER INTERNSHIP Our Youth Intern, Emily, concludes her part-time summer internship with us on August 31st. Thank you, Emily, for your worship leadership, mission and discipleship work, and general care of our youth! Dear Friends at Tomahawk,
Thank you so much for the love, care and help that you have so graciously given me during my brief time here. I have grown to love you dearly and will miss you, especially the wonderful staff that I have worked with, but am excited and happy about this new adventure that God has put before me. I pray God’s richest blessings upon each of you and may you always seek His Kingdom first. I will be back and visit you soon! Love,
Joyce

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this
in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints" (Ephesians 6:18).

us power, send us
grace.”
