Transcript of Digipak evaluation
- 1. Digipak Evaluation Emily Spencer
- 2. Flatplan I firstly measured around a CD case to get the
measurements. This would make my own product accurate and look more
professional. I took the measurements down to later put then
manually into Photoshop to create a CD size.
- 3. Flatplan I then drew around the CD once again to create the
inside of the Digipak. I then labelled where all theThe design
differenthere is just features of therough and inside would be.may
Including: wherechange on the CDmy final goes, informatioproduct n
on the artist, picture of the artist, name of song etc... Ive also
included once again the measurements so I could refer back to them
and stick to them. I have also created a colour scheme on request
of the artist and included it onto my Flatplan for
inspiration.
- 4. Flatplan I then drew around the CD once again to create the
outside of the Digipak.I have labelled the Once again Ibarcode on
my labelled whereFlatplan as it is a all the featuresfeature that
must would go;be used therefore including: nameI will not forget
it. of the artist, aI have also put the picture of thewebsite
addresses artist, name ofdown as they are the song, important and
certification, requested by the barcode, websiteartist. addresses
etc... Ive also included once again the measurements so I could
refer back to them and stick to them. I have also used the colour
scheme once again to refer back to, as these colours were requested
by the artist I need to stick to them as much as possible.
- 5. Final Digipak
- 6. Final product - Inside
- 7. Inside Although I havent stuck to my original colour scheme
I have kept close enough, when I tried using black as the
background it looked too dark. So I used the colour sample tool on
Photoshop to take a silver/grey colour from one of the images I
took of my artist. The CD is blue which is the colour I used
throughout with using the colour sample tool. As much as possible I
tried to stick to the colour scheme and therefore made the writing
on the CD silver. I have included all the information I needed on
the inside of the Digipak introducing the artist and artists they
have worked with. The lines I have used were made in The signature
at the bottom on the inside of thePhotoshop and are just to
separate the Digipak is the actual signature from the artist.
Iwriting and the heading of the artist asked him to write his
signature on a bit of papername. It is a simple effect but sticks
to and after taking a photo of it uploaded it tothe colour scheme
and helps to make Photoshop and edited it. I havent seen this
donethe design look less bland. on many CDs and therefore thought
it would be a good idea and make the CD look unique.
- 8. InsideThe picture I used was anoriginal image I
took.Although it is not the same Throughout I have usedstyle as the
front cover I the same font to createwanted to include it because
continuality and to notit shows my artist working. take too much
attentionIt shows he is devoted to his away from thework and
because he is not information.making eye contact with the The
artist name is incamera it doesnt take too black so it stands out;
Imuch attention away from would have used athe information next to
it. brighter colour but itI put it around a border wouldnt have
followedwhich is the same colour I my colour scheme.have used
throughout. Therefore I thoughtAlthough this is just a simple black
would be mosteffect I think it works to appropriate.break the
inside down.
- 9. Final Product - Outside
- 10. Outside On the outside of my Digipak I have stuck to all
the colours in the colour scheme: blue, silver, black. Although the
background is not quite black its not far off. The black I
originally tried didnt look right and made the whole production
look bland. I have included the parental advisory explicit content
certificate because some of the lyrics are inappropriate for a
younger audience. However the artist is aiming at an older
audience. The barcode I have included was created online
at:http://www.barcodesinc.com/generator/index.php I thought itwould
be a cool feature to have and makes the Digipak unique tothe
artist. I have included the website addresses for YouTube and
Facebook where the music video can be found. My artist asked me to
include both of these sites to advertise him, I thought putting
this at the back of the Digipak would be the best place. I am also
planning to put it at the end of my music video.
- 11. Outside On the back I included an image of my artist and
the feature artist together. This is to show both artist and so
when the video is published the target audience will know who is
who. I once again added the border around just for effect and to
make it stand out.The font throughout the Digipak is all the same
to make it look more professional. OverallI am happy with my whole
design because although I havent used bright colours I stillthink
my design stands out as it is simple yet noticeable.I have used a
range of images of the artists featured on shot facts which show
the artistin different aspects an extreme close up of the main
artist so we know who he is, animage of him working on his music
and an image of him working alongside an artist.I have stuck to the
colour scheme blue black and silver as well as possible and I think
thisis an advantage as continuity throughout will help the CD to
look more unique andnoticeable.
