• The logo for the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi is inspired by the Chakra or the wheel, representing the wheel of time and the circle of life, It symbolises freedom, unity, energy and power.

• Shera, the mascot tiger.

• The Queen’s Baton is designed by the Bangalore based Indian company Felix Designs and incorporates the modern as well as the traditional. It carries soil from all regions of India on its exterior and an embedded GPS module.

• The Queen’s Baton Relay covered 190,000 km in 71 countries.

• In Australia, the Queens Baton Relay covered Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane

•Here is the Queen’s Baton in Sydney, with Shera, the mascot, the Lord Mayor of Paramatta and the Indian High Commissioner.

• This is the Commonwealth flag being handed over to India by Australia at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in 2006.

THE GREEN GAMES• 3,500,000 trees have been planted in New Delhi.

• Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal T3 – Eighth largest passenger terminal in the world, with world class facilities; inaugurated in August.

DELHI METRO – The Phase I of Delhi Metro covered 76 kms; Phase II, covering 180 km, was built for the Games and is already operational.

INDIRA GANDHI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – Inaugurated in August 2010; completed in a record 38 months.
