GRADE 1/2 QUATRAIN POEMS
A Quatrain poem is a four line poem with different rhyming patterns. Below are some examples of the
student’s work.
I love my dog A cat sat on the mat
I play with him all day He was also very lazy
His name is Clog And he was very very fat
I let him play with clay. And his name was Maisy

INDONESIAN MASKS
Students have been making masks derived from the many different island of Indonesia. Masks are important
in dance and religious and cultural ceremony and storytelling.
GRADE 3-6 CWA MORVELL GARDEN VISIT
The Grade 3-6 students spent a fabulous morning on Wednesday, taking cuttings and learning about the
different facets of gardening. We thank Sue, John and Phil for their welcome, insight, practical
demonstrations and patience. Students will be able to transfer skills learnt to their own gardening.
MSTIE PROGRAM
Students in Grade 4/5/6 have been busy learning about sustainability and in particular deforestation.
Students have been designing, drawing, painting and building a 3 bay compost system that Mr J has helped
them construct by the veggie garden. Thanks to Miss Barclay and Miss Slattery for all of their great
organisation. The students are learning a lot.
NUDE FOOD DAY
Today we celebrated Nude Food Day, a day where you bring food in a lunch box, Tupperware, or containers
instead of using cling wrap to reduce the amount of wrappers and rubbish. A good thing about using
containers is they can be reused. It was fantastic to see so many students not only having a Nude Food lunch
but also a healthy lunch with lots of fruit.
