ALBERTA HIRING CONFIDENCE INDEX

72% OF OIL AND GAS FIRMS REPORTED A NET DECREASE IN EMPLOYMENT

The Hiring Confidence Index (HCI) has rebounded across Alberta organizations in all sectors regardless of size. The index is made up of both an expectation of hiring levels over the next six months, but also the confidence respondents have in finding the right people to fill vacancies. For the first time the HCI components moved in opposite directions; the increase in the confidence in finding the right people rose significantly more than the decrease in the expectation of hiring levels.
