• ViDeNet Version 3 Dial Plan• A numbering plan for global
video and voice over IP

GDS Number Scheme
Each number has four parts• International Access Code (IAC) (also called the world gatekeeper
prefix)- defined as 00 • A Country Code (CC)- follows the ITU international access code
system (1 for the US• An Organizational Prefix (OP)- ViDeNet assigned them; some
countries use area code/exchange prefix• An Endpoint Number (EN)- a unique number (sometimes called
H.323 extension) assigned to each endpoint by each organization (could be a E164 number or any other unique number)

GDS at Northwestern
The IAC is “00”For the EN, we use a “1” followed by the last five digits
of your telephone number If you have more than one Video station and only one
telephone number, follow the six digits by an integerNorthwestern was assigned 1169 as a organizational
prefixThe number of my telephone on my desk at
Northwestern is 847 467 6885 and the GDS dial number of my Viewstation is thus:
00 1 1169 176885 (spaces for readability only)
Northwestern users registered with the Northwestern gatekeeper can use a short cut and dial each other using only the EN (176885 for me)
