• Ask yourself:– What brought you here today?– How will this event change your life?– What happened to you earlier today or yesterday?– How are you coping today?– What did you witness today?
• Write a postcard– Postcards from the field are short, first person snippets of information.
Write up a four to six sentence description of your experience for submission to our online newsroom.
• Snap a photo to go with the postcard

A few tips from Jeanette for taking good photos:
• Keep your photos simple
• Be aware of all elements in your photo. Keep clutter out.
• Send your best photos. Not just ALL your photos.
Now, for exercise purposes take some time to take 3 good photos – at least one should go with your postcard.

• Call 712-432-5557 and select option 2. Record your utter.
– Mention “EXERSICE” at the beginning!– Tell a story– Answer the question: What brought you here today? What
event has had an effect on you today? What did you do today?
– 30 seconds to 1 minute in length
• When you’re done recording, hit # to review or just hang up.
• Get a signed consent form if interviewing someone outside APAT.
