Private Schools Conference! This
free event has been designed to give
you the best information to begin
your private school search.
About the TPS Conference
The TPS Conference was launched
in 2011 to provide an opportunity
for Toronto-area families to explore
in-depth the private school educa-
tion options in their area and con-
nect directly with some of the top
schools in the city. We provide a
thorough overview of the Toronto
private school landscape and general
admissions process for parents and
students. This conference also
brings together some of the top
Toronto private schools for presen-
tations and Q&A. Meet representa-
tives from these private schools,
listen to their presentations, and
speak with them individually about
their schools and admissions re-
quirements. With such a wealth of
resources available, you will be able
to compare your options and make
informed decisions about the future
of your children's education.
Conference Format
Please see p. 2 for a detailed confer-
ence agenda and presenter informa-
tion.

Our visitors tell us that there is something unique about
Crescent that is evident on first walking through our
front doors: they feel immediately ‘at home’.
The three-way partnership between faculty, parents and
students forms the basis of our school culture. We work
hard at building relationships, and we believe that this is
what makes our school unique.
At Crescent, every effort is made to make new students
and their families feel welcome. Before long, your son
will become part of a large and caring extended family.
All three schools, Lower, Middle and Upper, are located
in the same facility which allows the boys to integrate and
share mentoring and leadership roles across all ages and
grades. At the same time, each School observes the in-
tegrity of an age-appropriate environment where teach-
ers can understand each boy and encourage him to dis-
cover his own unique talents and abilities.
Parents are always welcome at Crescent. We encourage
and support active participation through many social and
educational opportunities. Additionally, many parents
volunteer in our vibrant and energetic parent associa-

As one of the original schools established in Can-
ada, we carry on certain traditions and add new
ones because they have meaning and value to our
community. Beginning the day in Chapel centers
our souls and our community. The work and
beauty of precision Cadet Corps marching bonds
all Ridleians in leadership and service. Our classi-
cal architecture – elegant and substantive –
stands for the strength of our school community,
the bonds we share while we are here, and the
care we all take to sustain this great place. Our
motto – Terar dum prosim (May I be consumed
in service) – is perhaps more relevant today than
ever as your generation is ignited by the fire of
social responsibility and service more than any in
decades.
Ridley’s world prep education and experience
begin in the Lower School with our youngest

includes a post-graduate year program. We offer

At Sterling Hall, we know boys. We understand
their needs and realize how vital the JK to Grade
8 years are, preparing them for the rest of their
lives. We use tactile tools and theme-based pro-
gramming that appeal to boys, as well as reading
strategies and hands-on activities designed specifi-
cally for them.
We have small class sizes and the lowest student
to teacher ratio of any boys’ school in Toronto.
Our dynamic teachers are extraordinary mentors,
willing to take the time to celebrate your boy’s
individuality and strengths.
Our School is home to excellent academics and a
host of leadership opportunities. Your boy will be
free to express himself through Drama, chess,
robotics and a wide range of character building
extracurricular activities.
Founded in 1987, the School has an enrollment of
310 boys. For further information, contact Claire
Reed at 416-785-3410 ext. 238, email admis-

Bilingual and co-educational, TFS delivers an enriched cur-
riculum with an international perspective that places strong
emphasis on bilingualism and high educational standards. We
are a world IB school, accredited by the International Bacca-
laureate Organization, with programs leading to the IB di-
ploma and unique bilingual IB diploma. TFS is also a Primary
Years Program (PYP) and Middle Years Program (MYP) can-
didate school, making us one of the few full spectrum IB
schools in the GTA. We are also accredited by the Ministry
of Education of Ontario and the Ministry of Education of
France.
TFS welcomes boys and girls from age 2 to university en-
trance. We offer a warm and supportive learning environ-
ment that focuses on the individual student. Fewer than 10
percent of new students have a French language background
when they enroll at TFS, but all are bilingual when they
graduate. Our Introductory Program, which is offered up to
and including Grade 7 is very successful at integrating stu-
dents with no background in French.
Our strong co-curricular program ensures students are well
rounded and includes recreational and competitive sports,
music, visual and dramatic arts. Students benefit from excep-
tional facilities in a diverse, non-denominational environment.
We have 2 campuses: Toronto (age 2 to Grade 12) and
Mississauga (PK to Grade 7). For more information, please

TPS was created by a group of education consultants who
are experts on Canadian private and independent schools.
We saw a lack of quality information on the web and a need
to provide families with thorough information about the
private school landscape in Canada. Our website,
TopPrivateSchools.ca, aims to be a complete research cen-
ter with a continuously expanding knowledge base for pri-
vate schools and private school admissions. We hope our
resources can help you make informed decisions about your
family’s education options.
