MOVIE REVIEW
The director duo, Krishna D.K. and Raj Nidimoru, after
their popular movie Go Goa Gone, is back with Happy
Ending. Yudi (Saif Ali Khan) is a one time best selling author
who hasn't written anything in years. And the reason his
novel is now on the discounted price racks is because of the
oh-so-pretty writer Aanchal Reddy (Ileana D'Cruz). The
commitment phobic Yudi, after all the usual dating and
breakups, especially with his last psychotic dentist girlfriend
(Kalki Koechlin), has the expected chemistry with Aanchal.
Armaan (Govinda) is a fading movie star who comes to Yudi
to get a script written for a Bollywood movie in Hollywood
style in order to desperately save his career.
Happy Ending is a comedy about romantic comedies, but by the end of the 136 minutes you feel that the spoof that this
movie makes of all other stereotypical rom-coms, makes it nothing different from them. It is one of them and it is filled
with all the same Bollywood clichs and any attempt to digress from that by means of mocking has not made this movie
any cooler or better. But come on, who doesn't like cheesy chick flick love stories. This one isn't anything lesser. There is
good music, good performances, with Govinda playing his perfect part to make ironies even more ironical and all the
usual laughs. You do leave the theatre feeling good, provided you went in there with the mindset of expecting not too
much.

REJUVENATE YOUR OLD JOINTSArthritis is one of the growing health concerns faced by Indians, affecting 15 per cent of the population. It means inflammation of the joints. Osteoarthritis (OA) or wear-and-tear arthritis is the most common form and is a breakdown of the cartilage in joints. It can affect any joint in the body, but usually affects the weight-bearing joints of the hips, knees and spine.
OSTEOARTHRITIS: CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS The ability of cartilage to act as a shock-absorber in the joint is a function of its elasticity. In OA, the cartilage loses this elasticity and becomes stiff. This predisposes the cartilage to damage from even the normal forces that are encountered in a joint. As the cartilage wears away, the bone underneath becomes exposed, leading to pain from rubbing together of bones. Deformity ensues and ligaments and tendons get stretched. The chance of developing OA increases with age, though the severity may vary. In people over 50, more women than men suffer from it, though today, many young adults suffer it too.Joint pain, worsened by movements, is the major complaint of OA patients. It may be brought on by overuse or after long periods of inactivity. There may also be stiffness, which is typically worse after a period of rest.
OSTEOARTHRITIS TREAT IT RIGHT At Helios Speciality Hospitals, osteoarthritis is usually treated by a combination of treatments, including exercise, weight loss, if needed, medications, physical therapy with muscle strengthening exercises, hot and cold compresses to the painful joint, removal of joint fluid. The Early Osteoarthritis knees are treated with Arthroscopy (Key hole) surgery Abrasion chrondroplasty and Debridement, then the joint is infiltrated with newer injection to the joint- viscosupplement. Surgery may be helpful to relieve pain when other treatment options have not been effective. (Total knee replacement)
Dr Nandkumar Sundaram, Helios Speciality Hospitals, is considered a pioneer in shoulder joint replacement surgery in India, is at the forefront of patient-specific knee replacement surgery. He says, the types of surgery for arthritis include arthroscopy, joint replacement (hip replacement surgery, knee replacement surgery, shoulder replacement surgery). We perform a good number of knee and hip replacement surgeries every week. Our long-term results compare with the best in the world and our patients stand testimony to this.
