Good news for buyersand sellers in Sussexarea as the latest re-search by CountrywideMortgage Services hasrevealed that mortgageapplications grew by20% in March, reach-ing levels not seensince the recessionbegan.
March experienced thethird consecutive monthof mortgage applicationincreases with overallvolumes for the threemonths of 2010 9% upon 2009, based on theactivities of Country-wide’s network of 700mortgage consultants.
Recent application in-creases could be accred-ited to a renewed senseof confidence amongcustomers and an in-creased number of prod-ucts to choose from. Theoverall number of mort-
gage products increasedby 8% in March on theprevious month.
The research also re-veals that a growingnumber of mortgage cus-tomers are opting forfixed rate products,which made up 61% ofapplications in March.
This contrasts with arecent resurgence in thepopularity of trackerproducts, which made uparound half of all mort-gages in December 2009.
