Grading of Fieldwork Performance
• The grading of fieldwork adopts the grades of the Grade Point Average system of the University.
• There are nine grades representing different levels of performance.
• For MSW Fieldwork I & II, a student must achieve at least Grade C for graduation with the award in order to meet the requirements for an application for registration as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB) in Hong Kong.

Grades given by Supervisor is the RECOMMEDED grade subject to moderation by FW Team
• Report to be read and signed by student • Immediate rectification for disagreement to the report • Written comment from student on the report if disagreement

full sample of fieldwork assignment for moderation• New Fieldwork supervisor will need to submit Full set of
assignment for Internal Moderation.

Termination of placement
• Fieldwork placement may be terminated if a student performs unsatisfactorily and
• under the consensual agreement between the fieldwork supervisor and the Fieldwork Coordination Team in consultation of the placement agency.
Student disagreement
• Students are encouraged to bring their difficulties to the attention of Fieldwork coordinator as early as possible
• Students should actively reflect own feelings and constraints with fieldwork supervisor and be open to accept advice
• Formal appeal on final grade can only be processed within 7 working days after announcement of result

Report to Supervisor/ Fieldwork Coordinator ASAP
Importance of data protection• Do not talk to your family and friends about your work
other than general statements –do not discuss individual service users
• Make sure that you are familiar with agency policies and procedures on data protection
• Not using personal mobile phones for contacting clients on placement
• Not disclosing any private or confidential information of either the agency, colleagues, field-mate, fieldwork supervisors or clients on social media
• Not uploading/ posting any photos/ comments/ sharing about placement sites/ colleagues/ field-mate/ fieldwork supervisor/ clients on any social media
• Do not add service users as friends on your Facebook account/social networking media
Use of Personal Data• Use of portable device such as USB, portable
device would lead to failure of placement• Loss of any personal information of client should
report to agency and supervisor immediately• Use password protected function to save any files
with personal information• Use disguised name in all the report writing of
fieldwork placement
Placement hours
• No leave should be applied in the placement• Overtime work should follow the policy of the agency• No three sessions of work should be allowed in one day except for
special program or arrangement

Late payment for tuition fee will lead to termination of status as student which will affect your fieldwork placement and the insurance protection policy during the placement
Those who cannot pay the tuition fee on time will lead to lapse of student status andif you are currently taking fieldwork placement. The placement will be suspended with immediate effect.
Good Preparation for FW placement
• Psychologically and Physically well prepared for the workloads of placement
• Better to equip the knowledge and skills of the matched placement settings within this week
• Good time management• Seek advice from teachers and previous students about the
survival tips during placement• Verify placement centre address and fieldwork supervisor’s
contact information• Try to get directions to placement site, rehearse the travelling
time before the first day of placement• Read through the web-site/annual report of the agency/ leaflets
of the unit• Clarify expectations with your fieldwork supervisor right before
the start date• Having a support network to share your happiness or worries d
uring the placement period• Stay healthy during the placement period
