The 2nd #Berlin5GWeek with the topic Software Networks: Challenges & Opportunitiesand the Role of 5G - Understanding SDN, NFV, MEC, FOG, IOT, and 5G took place fromNovember 6 to 10, 2017 at the Fraunhofer FOKUS Institute. It was a tremendoussuccess. Over 180 experts from more than 30 countries participated in workshopsand tutorials all about SDN / NFV, as well as edge and core software networks andmulti-access network technologies in 5G. Among them were industry leaders fromVodafone, Deutsche Telekom, Orange and Telefonica. From industrial IoTapplications via 5G to a working live 5G core network, over 15 demonstrations wereshown by the experts from Fraunhofer FOKUS.

The Next Generation Internet (NGI) is one of the keypriorities in the H2020 ICT work programme 2018-2020. Together with the Eurpean Commission(Digital Single Market) and HUB4NGI projectwe have developed an NGI survey. The purpose ofthe survey is to clarify and to prioritise interests ofGermany as a member state in the area of NGI. Thesurvey is by invitation only. If you wish to be a part ofEU NGI Community and are willing to participate inthe NGI survey please e-mail us and we shallgenerate an invitation for you.
