December 2017 Newsletter The Fraunhofer FOKUS Business Unit NGNI (Software-based Networks) and the associated Chair for Next Generation Networks at TU Berlin sporadically send newsletters with brief information about their latest activities. Thank you for your participation! Thank your for being part of the #Berlin5GWeek 2017! The 2nd #Berlin5GWeek with the topic Software Networks: Challenges & Opportunities and the Role of 5G - Understanding SDN, NFV, MEC, FOG, IOT, and 5G took place from November 6 to 10, 2017 at the Fraunhofer FOKUS Institute. It was a tremendous success. Over 180 experts from more than 30 countries participated in workshops and tutorials all about SDN / NFV, as well as edge and core software networks and multi-access network technologies in 5G. Among them were industry leaders from Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, Orange and Telefonica. From industrial IoT applications via 5G to a working live 5G core network, over 15 demonstrations were shown by the experts from Fraunhofer FOKUS. Watch the videos for impressions!
