PREFACE
The modern air pollution control nowadays covers not only the
extraction and the filtration of the air, but also the constant monitoring
of the air quality.
Are limit values met? Are air humidity, temperature and noise exposure
alright?
We have faced up to the issue and we have taken it one step further.
We have developed automation processes which allow optimizing
complex processes in companies – to protect the employees’ health and
the environment and to improve production efficiency.
Machines are activated when needed, the building technology is coupled
with sensors which on the one hand saves electricity and heating energy
and on the other hand optimises all the air quality in halls, offices,
schools, institutions, etc.
The involved options are diverse and range from single user applications
that can be read out in real time via Bluetooth to connected network
solutions in which coupled Airtrackers can be centrally united and
monitored in a control centre.
In many companies Industry 4.0 is discussed but not substantiated. Our
goal was and still is to make Industry 4.0 as concrete and user-friendly as
possible. I think we have reached that goal.
This brochure shall give you a first impression of the developments that
have been made towards Industry 4.0 at TEKA. You will see that we are
ahead of our time. Enter the new era of digital prevention with us.

INDUSTRY 4.0
Industry 4.0 describes the interlacing of industrial produc-
tion with state-of-the-art information and communication
technology.
The increasing digitalisation of the economy and society,
smartphone, tablet, internet and smart home, sustainably
changes the way in which future production and work is
carried out in Germany.
“Smart Factories are the future”, states Erwin Telöken, gener-
al manager of the TEKA GmbH.
Production and logistics processes are interconnected
intelligently in order to make the production more efficient,
flexible and healthier.
When all information is available in real time, a company
may e.g. react early on the availability of certain spare parts,
missing parts, as well as malfunction, etc.
Through the use of the TEKA sensors and actuators, con-
nected production processes can be controlled across the
company. This saves resources and energy.
Intelligent sensors/actuators help to manage the errors
which occur in all companies and cannot be completely
avoided.
Overall, the profitability of the production can be enhanced
by the intelligent networking, the competitiveness can be
strengthened and the flexibility of the production can be
increased.

INTELLIGENT NETWORKING
The Airtracker series, especially the Airtracker Basic and
the Airtracker Pro version, are designed as open systems
that can be intelligently connected to other technologies
and can thus become the basic pillar of the industrial 4.0
SmartFactory.
The Airtracker can send signals via TEKA Connect to differ-
ent actuators that perform a corresponding action.
E.g. gates, windows or air supply systems that open auto-
matically as soon as the temperature exceeds an adjusta-
ble threshold.
A fire detector can trigger an alarm if the temperature
within a filter system indicates a fire. Extraction systems
can be activated automatically as soon as a connected
welding robot starts its work (Process Control sensors).
Air-conditioning systems or room air dehumidifiers take
up operation if the humidity is too high. Hazards due to
excessive noise pollution or fine dust can also be moni-
tored safely and automatically. The possibilities of applica-
tion are unlimited.

Airtracker Basic
The innovative, intelligent room monitoring system of the
future
The European Department of the World Health Organiza-
tion (WHO) has called on the EU to impose stricter require-
ments on its air quality standards.
This is where the innovative, intelligent solution by TEKA
steps in:
The Airtracker air monitoring system
The newly developed sensor of the TEKA Airtracker series
detects particles smaller than 100 nanometres and convinc-
es in the evaluation from 0 to 30 mg/m³ with an accuracy of
± 0.1 mg/m³, which is documented and has obtained a test
certificate.
Building up trust
High-tech sensors ensure reliable measurement and safety.
Individual settings of the threshold/limit values set the
course for a secure future.
As soon as the configured threshold value is reached, the
sensor gives the current status of the fine dust concentra-
tion by means of two widely visible, large-dimensioned
LED strips with a traffic light function. Depending on the
particulate matter pollution, the Airtracker can control fans
or filter units of the TEKA series and minimise the risk at an
early stage. But not only TEKA filter systems can be con-
trolled, almost every extraction and filter system as well as
fans can be controlled by the Airtracker.

Companies can easily document the adherence to the pro-
fessional regulations by means of an integrated data logger.
This creates trust as the health care of the employees is
always kept in view.

Airtracker ProThe Airtracker Pro is the advanced develop-
ment of the Airtracker Basic.
It offers an additional MQTT / OPC UA inter-
face that enables M2M (Machine-to-Machine)
information transmission.
This results in numerous possibilities for the
communication and control of various ma-
chines, circuits and components.
The Airtracker Pro can easily be expanded with
the sensors Process Control and Fire Detection
(see accessories).
This allows users to use the Airtracker Pro as a
quick warning system in the event of threshold
overruns or as an automatic control unit for
various extraction systems, for example
when automatically starting a welding
robot or cutting table.
The advantage: Employees are always
protected when necessary, and the extrac-
tion system is only used when it is actually
needed.
This measure can significantly reduce
energy costs. Digital health care is being
optimised.

Fire Detection

Energy control sensor
The Fire Detection Sensor can be retrofitted for the Airtracker Basic and Airtracker
Pro. With the Fire Detection a previously set temperature can be monitored. If the
threshold value is exceeded, an "alarm message" is sent to the Airtracker and the
connected actuators are activated. The signalling is carried out optically via the
Airtracker, by e-mail or directly at the sensor via the internal relay that is connected
to an optionally available signal horn. Thus, the temperature transitions are detected
directly at the time of emergence and the corresponding countermeasures can be
initiated. These can also be automatised with e.g. TEKA extinguishing systems. The
sensor is connected to the Airtracker by cable (optional). The power supply (24V) is
available on-site or optionally via a 230 / 24V plug-in power supply.
The Process Control Sensor can be retrofitted for the Airtracker Basic and Airtracker
Pro. It works with passive infrared sensors and reacts to heat radiation and move-
ments in the surrounding area.
This presence detector with sensitive sensors can detect the slightest movements. The
Process Control Sensor outstandingly detects room transformations and movements.
The Process Control Sensor can be employed, for example, when using welding robots.
Example: The connected extraction unit starts automatically as soon as it receives a
movement signal from the robot. The sensor is connected to the Airtracker by cable
(optional). The power supply (24V) is available on-site or optionally via a 230 / 24V
plug-in power supply.
The newly developed energy control sensor is installed for the control of frequen-
cy converter-controlled filter units. This modern sensor, in conjunction with the
Airtracker Basic / Pro, provides digital commands to the frequency converter and is
now controlled depending on the dust volume. Example: green = 25% power or ON /
OFF, yellow = 65% power, red = 100% power.
Designed for rail mounting. The power supply (24V) is available on-site or optionally
via a 230 / 24V plug-in power supply.

DifCon
SmartFilter
DifCon is a newly developed digital differential pressure transducer for gaseous
media. Our differential pressure sensor is suitable for monitoring over, under and
differential pressure of gaseous, non-aggressive media. The fields of application
are in modern building management systems.
The TEKA DifCon sensor unit is also suitable for filter monitoring. The differential
pressure gives an indication of the degree of contamination of the filter.
Our sensors and devices are designed for long-term, reliable working durability.
They are very robust and sensitive, e.g. for the measurement of differential pres-
sures of up to 10 kPa. Typical applications are measurements in mobile and sta-
tionary filter devices as well as extraction, conveying, air-conditioning, ventilation
and filter units as well as clean room technology and industry.
The TEKA DifCon sensor unit can be equipped with an optional GSM module. This
means that the determined data can be logged.
The project, sponsored and patented by the German Federal Ministry of Education
and Research (BMBF)"SmartFilter" was implemented under the direction of TEKA &
EDC together with the partners.
