Dear Readers,
Finally summer is coming with its warm days and it's not only the weather that makes us happy, rather it’s the bunch of wonderful and atmos-pheric photo editorials by Joel Cartier, Julia Küchler, Kathrin Müller-Heffter, Nadya Fila-tova, Rut Sigurdardottir and Tristan Rösler.
With our #SELECTION we give a preview on the green & ethical trade fairs during the upcoming Fashion Week Berlin. In this issue you find Shoes and Accessories.
# Editorial
From June onwards we will change our submission pro-cedure. In the past we have asked for submissions around a special theme. According to our experience this limits us to show exciting editorials. There-fore from now on we are generally open to all crea-tive works. Additional we will have Theme-Specials within the monthly issues from time to time.
Enjoy our May issue!
Best, Tom & Marc

Great things often come from small beginnings.Think! comes from Kopfing, a small village in Upper Austria and a place we like to call home. Since the 1980s, we have been developing ideas for supremely healthful handcrafted shoes produced in the heart of Europe.
Think! shoes: A most beautiful way to express your personality.Colorful is our favorite color, cheerfulness is our tool of choice and experi-ence is the last we use to stretch our creativity. Unique design makes our sandals, mules, slip-ons, pumps, lace-ups and boots perfect companions for people who want to leave their mark on the world.
Doing something good that will last. Our footwear is handcrafted in a process that can require up to 120 sepa-rate production steps. In strict compliance with stringent European envi-ronmental requirements, our actions are geared towards ecological sus-tainability: With shorter production and transport distances for our products manufactured exclusively in Europe, we save fuel costs and help reduce the world’s carbon dioxide emissions.
Being one with nature.Nature is our fountain of youth. If we help to preserve it, we also help our-selves. This is why we only use vegetable tanned leather of European ori-gin for all parts of our shoes that come into direct contact with the foot. We use powdered bark extract from trees growing in plantations as the natural tanning agent for our shoes. Although vegetable tanned leather is more expensive to produce and more difficult to work with, it is breathable, skin-friendly, moisture-absorbent and free of pollutants. Healthier for you and healthier for the planet we share.
A bright new idea.Think! is based on the simple idea that healthy shoes can be good for your feet and easy on the eyes – we sum it up in four simple words:Healthy Shoes. Naturally. Beautiful

The Swiss designer Jana Keller proves it is possible to design extra-ordinary leather accessories, and create something bigger, with her eco-luxury-label ROYAL BLUSH.
Inspired by the Swiss Alps, ROYAL BLUSH accessories literally wake-up the wanderlust! Multifunctional handbags are as practical as an alpinist's, and jewellery reminding one of climbing gear. With those exclusive natural 'Must-haves', every 'city-nomad' is per-fectly in gear. Each piece is made in consciousness about our planet and environment, using the best ecological materials, manufactured with local craftship.
ROYAL BLUSH’s chosen leather stands for a gentle vegetable tanning, rather than the use of aggressive chemicals. Vegetable tanning is an artisan tradition, handed down from father to son, for over 200 years, using both antique recipes and state-of-the-art technology. Finest Italian calf leather, tanned with bark and roots handcrafted and plaited in the EU and Switzerland, supporting the local craftsmen and through short shipping distances producing less CO2. And as one of the few brands in Europe, ROYAL BLUSH also uses Nanai salmon leather. It is a by-product of the food-industries, tanned at the highest level of ecological quality. The salmon skin stems from certified bio salm-on farms from Ireland.
Gifting a ROYAL BLUSH accessory means doing something good – not only for your con-science! By doing so you support the environment, its inhabitants & resources and of course Keller’s farsighted vision of doing business in harmony.

Slowers is a small brand inpired by rural and slow life. We select typical-ly spanish rural items and redesign them to our liking. At the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin, we will present the 2014 spring summer collection “The organ-ic espadrilles”: ecologic and stilish espadrilles with cool prints inspired by nature and slow style.
Within our life philosophy, we believe that the espadrille is the shoe that best represents us because it is comfortable and cool, ideal to wear on our sum-mer walks, because it uses natural fibers and allows our feet to come in con-tact with nature, because it is still made using traditional methods and is sewn by hand, and also, because the Slowers espadrilles are really lovely.
The Slowers espadrilles encourage you to relax, to enjoy your life, to walk at a different pace, to live the slow life …
Our espadrilles are handcrafted in Spain using natural raw materials, jute soles and GOTS certified organic cotton textiles, getting as a result a 100% natural, ethic and cool shoe.

Feuerwear® makes unique products from decommissioned fire hose.
The basic idea: instead of burdening the environment as waste, the hose is used to produce new high-quality and extremely durable bags, belts and unusual accessories.
Every Feuerwear® product is a one-of-a-kind piece and has its own indi-vidual story to tell. Before Feuerwear® process the fire hoses, they helped fire fighters to save lives for many years. They were dragged through soot, grease and mud, in extreme heat and fire, and had to transport thousands of cubic meters of water. After their duty with the fire brigade Feuerwear® prepares the hoses by scrubbing them clean before they are cut to size and handcrafted using high-quality materials to make sturdy, one-of-a-kind products – ready for the every day duties of urban life.
