“But for you, sunrise! The sun of righteousness will dawn on those who honor my
name, healing radiating from its wings. You will be bursting with energy, like colts
frisky and frolicking.”
—Malachi 4:2 (The Message)
I am SO ready to be outside, to take a walk, to stretch my arms out and look up to feel the sun on
my face! I don’t know about the rest of you but I think I
might suffer from Seasonal Depression Disorder. Or maybe
I’m just making it up—but I DO know that I feel much better
and I am in much better humor when the sun sinks into my
core.
I think that’s how life is. We do better when we let the Son
sink into our core. Really sink in. None of this—barely
touch the surface, or just take a peak or get a glimpse…
It feels like I can never find the sun in the winter. Even when it is out—right in front of me—it
seems to elude me because the cold just grips me. I often hide myself away—not wanting anymore
coldness in my life. Maybe I need to learn to seek the sun during these cold times instead of hiding
away…
The Son is always there. Sometimes life is harsh and it is actually I who pull away or withdraw be-
cause I am overwhelmed, or angry, or filled with coldness…
Now that I am out in the sun again, I feel that my step is lighter and there is a joy that stays with me.
I try to make sure that I surround myself with the sun every day—letting it warm me and fill me.
How much better our lives would be if we let the Son surround us every day—warming and filling
us.
May the healing radiation from the suns (Sons) wings dawn on you!
In the name of the Son,
Pastor Erica

Ministry Matters Innovation Team Update
Your Church Council has been hard at work following our
vision to make St. Paul’s a more visible and vibrant center for
community activity. We have gathered much additional
information to help bring our innovative ideas to maturation.
During our information gathering phase we’ve had a lot of
good input from many sources. We’ve decided it would
be wise to roll out our plans in phases. Through
conversations with building and property, we’ve decided we
should have some important foundation pieces in place first.
It’s been on our wish list for years to have outside restroom,
handwashing, and drinking water facilities available.
This will benefit Treehouse, our sporting teams, our outdoor
activities, our community market days and walking trail,
as well as the future dog park. Through prayerful and careful
discernment we’ve decided that this should be our first
priority. As we work towards installing restroom and drinking
water facilities, we will continue to work on our walking
trail and our church will become the host for
Oakville Community Market Days.
We’ve outlined our timetable as follows:
Phase One: Opening of Community Market Days
Phase Two: Opening of Community Walking Trail
Phase Three: Installation of restroom facilities
Phase Four: Opening of Community Dog Park
We need lots of energy and help to make this a success.
If you know of anyone who might be interested in being a
vendor at our Market Days, please take a flyer from the
narthex and pass it along. If you know of a source for wood
chips please let a council member know. If you would be
willing to help on a workday, or a market day please put
your name on the sign- up sheets located on the bulletin
board in the social hall. You’re also welcome to call the
church office to get your name on the list.
