ThePTP-8080isaGPSNetworkTimeServer(NTS)forPTPIEEE1588thatprovidessecure,accurateandreliabletimesynchronizationfornetworksandoffersintegratedfullymanagednetworkswitchcapabilitiesfor8(10/100/1000BASE)GigabitEthernetports.ThePTP-8080canbeusedfordatacenters,testfacilities,militaryinstallations,federalormunicipalagencies,financialservicesandtechnologyfirms,andmanyotherenterpriseswhichneedprecisiontimingtosupporttheirnetworkoperations.ThePTP-8080providesexacttimeoverEtherneteitherbasedonthewell-establishedNTP/SNTPprotocolorPTPaccordingtoIEEE1588Std2008.ItnotonlyprovidesNTPandPTPtimingcapabilities,butalsoavarietyofothertimecodesandsignals,suchasGPSemulationandIRIG-B.Theunitalsoprovidesbackwardscompatibilityforoldertimingsystems.SuchinterfacesarenormallyprovidedonthenetworkboundariesintegratedonrelevantSNTPclientsorPTPSlaveClocksplatforms.ThePTP-8080isusedforapplicationsthatrequirereliabletimingtoaccuratelysynchronizenetworks,systems,anddevicesandtologeventswithlegallytraceabletime.ThePTP-8080Seriesoffersabroadportfoliooffeatures,includingnetworkmasterclocks(NTPorPTP),monitoringandmanagementcapabilities,andacompletesoftwarepackagetodeliverhighperformancetimingfornetworkapplicationsanddevices.ThePTP-8080iseasy-to-installandisfullyconfigurabletocustomizefeatures,interfaces,portsandprotocolstoyourneeds.Thesefeaturesincluderemoteloginandfiletransfercapabilities,whichprovidetheutmostsecurityusingindustrystandardinterfaces.Afull-suiteofnetworkprotocolsincludesSNMPcapability,supportforenterprisedirectoryserverstoauthenticateusers,internalandexternalloggingandmonitoringoferrormessagesthroughSyslog,DHCPforinstallationconvenience,andIPv4.ThePTP-8080isareliableandaccurateNTPandPTPGrandMasterClockfulfillingtheIEEE1588Std2002(v1)andIEEE1588Std2008(v2).ThePTP-8080containsabuilt-instate-of-the-artGPSreceiverthatisusedasthetimebasefortheGMCclock.ThePTP-8080platformsupports2-stepclockmodesandeitherE2EorP2Pasthe

3.1.2 ConnectingtothePTP-8080EitherusetheDiscoveryutility,orentertheIPAddressofthePTP-8080retrievedviatheDiscoveryutilityintoawebbrowserwindow;thiswillopenthePTP-8080controlwebpage.
