curtain for the front of the stage thesides of the openings are of wood andfire could easily creep around to theauditorium these sides should be cov-ered

with metal 2 The furnaceunder the centre of the stage shouldhave the proper protection from allwood work The flue from the stagepasses through the flooring with thesheet iron next to the woodwork thisline should be covered with propercovering 3 The three windows onthe first floor on the south sideshould be made into doors openingout to an iron balcony with wide fireescape stairs leading to the adjoininglot 4 The aisles down the centreshould by all means extend throughto the orchestra instead of half wayof the auditorium 5 The windows-on the south side of the balconyshould be treated the same as thewindows on the first floor the win ¬

dows on the west elevation over themain entrance should be cut intolarge doors opening outward andthere should also be metal stairwaysleading from the front balcony to themain street
