STEELS, Aenone Marion (Noni)- May 28, 1929 – December 12, 2006. Peace-fully at the Carpenter Hospice in Burling-ton after a long and courageous struggle with cancer. Dearly loved sister of Judd (Dale), Bert (previously deceased) and Lee (Celia) and admired aunt to Chris, Kent, Sheri, Anthony and Craig. Noni was the long time companion and great friend of Barb McLellan and was greatly saddened when a stroke took Barb this past July. Noni and Barb hiked the Bruce Trail together, end to end. They were both well known for their philanthropy in many and various causes. Noni, a truly great lady in every sense, will be sadly missed by all her family and loyal friends. The family gives grateful thanks to all the nurturing caregivers at Carpenter Hospice and especially to friends Mildred Knight, Jim and Marion McLellan for their loving support. There will be no funeral service but a private internment will be held in the spring. The family graciously decline flow-ers in favour of donations to the Cancer Society, a hospice, or a charity of your choice.

AGNEW, Andrew William III (Andy) 1968 - 2006. - AndrewWilliam Agnew III, "Andy" to many, passed away suddenly onMonday, November 13, 2006, doing what he loved - playing hock-ey. Andrew was born on Easter Sunday, April 14, 1968 inOakville. Following his early years in Mississauga, he lived onSpruce Avenue in Burlington, attended John T. Tuck elementary,and delivered the Burlington Post for five years, until he moved toCalgary at age 14 with his family. He graduated from HighSchool in 1986 then studied at the Universities of Calgary andLethbridge, AB. Andrew received his Business Managementdegree from the University of Lethbridge in 1992. After workinghis way through High School and University as a paper boy, gasjockey and bank teller, he pursued a career in banking. He hadan aptitude for numbers and was talented in dealing with people.Andrew was always very athletic and team-oriented. On the iceby age two, he swam competitively for the Burlington YMCA fortwo years and played on Burlington travelling teams in soccer andhockey. It was hard to separate his social life from his sportsactivities. Soccer, tennis, endless rounds of golf, camping withhis beloved dog Sasha and even a softball game with his sister'sco-ed team are a few of his hobbies that kept him busy when offthe ice. Andrew's social calendar was always filled well inadvance. Spending time with friends and family and helping oth-ers was extremely important to him. He picked up stray dogs,volunteered for charities, and finally kindly donated his organs tohelp others in need. Some fifty people have benefited from thisgift. He seemed to find a perfect balance in his life, between asuccessful career, being active and being social. Andrew was anincredibly compassionate, caring, and kind-hearted man. Hewas happy. He will be missed and loved always. Andrew will bemissed greatly by his parents, Gail (nee Grieve) and Drew now ofCalgary, and formerly of Windsor, Oakville, Mississauga andBurlington; his partner Deb Bogoros (Calgary); his sister andbrother-in-law Sarah and Darren Gray (Burnaby); his special auntand Godmother Barb Grieve (Lakeport Ca.); and numerousaunts, uncles and cousins including Laurel Lavalle (nee Agnew)and Dan Agnew both of Oakville, and Dennis Agnew of Ajax. Hewas predeceased by his Godfather Dean Agnew, his four dotinggrandparents Andy and Betty Agnew (all one-time of Oakville)and Charles and May Grieve (Burlington), and his best earlychildhood friend Bruce Mallory (Burlington). Funeral Serviceswere held at First Alliance Church (12345 - 40th Street S.E. inCalgary) on November 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. under the directionof Rev. Ray Matheson. The Church was filled to capacity with hisfriends and relatives from Ontario, British Columbia, Texas, andCalifornia, as well as from across Alberta. His sister Sarah deliv-ered a stirring eulogy after which his great-uncle Ed Agnew(Windsor) and several of Andrew's friends and colleagues madeheartfelt tributes to Andrew.
