Kolenda, M.D. FRCS (C) 1148 Winston Churchill Blvd Unit B4 Oakville Ontario L6J 0A3 Tel 905-849 7560 Fax 289-295 0113 The evolution of Verso Surgery Centre It’s business as usual at Verso Surgery Centre, but change is in the works. After more than a decade in downtown Oakville, Verso Sur- gery Centre (formerly Oakville Facial Surgery) has moved to 1148 Winston Churchill Boulevard (Unit B4) in Oakville, just south of the QEW. The move means not just a re-location but a physical trans- formation as well. The Centre, which offers head and neck surgery, facial plastic surgery and hair transplant surgery, has expanded to feature an onsite fully certified medical surgi- cal suite, and a SkinCeuticals Spa, featuring a L ’Oreal line of medical grade skin care products. (Verso Surgery Centre will be the first flagship SkinCeuticals facility in Ontario). Behind the move was a desire on the part of otolaryngolo- gist-head and neck surgeon Dr. Jack Kolenda, to expand the services offered beyond the myriad of facial cosmetic and functional surgeries, cosmetic and laser treatments and skin care. The new building is a warm luxurious space for patients, with a welcoming entranceway, a combination of large bright windows, marble flooring, white flowering trees, candelabras and comfortable seating. It truly is a dream clinic, one that now offers an onsite oper- ating suite with recovery area and overnight stay facility to reduce wait times and increase accessibility. The variety of skincare lines once offered has been streamlined in the beau- tiful new clinical spa. A natural extension of Dr. Kolenda’s practice is hair trans- plants, an area of cosmetic surgery undergoing tremendous evolution. In keeping with his facility’s philosophy of forward thinking, keeping one step ahead of the newest method- ologies, Verso Surgery Centre is replacing standardized hair transplants with a revolutionary new computerized image- guided robotic system known as ARTAS Robotic, which not only provides a shorter healing process, but no risk of scar- ring at the back of the head. The robot assisted hair restoration system, only three of which exist in the Toronto area, enables Dr. Kolenda to of- fer patients a truly minimally invasive procedure to deliver permanent and incredibly natural looking results, scar free, with no plugs and no stitches. In terms of the evolution of the procedure it has gone from large plugs to transplantation of single hair follicles, thereby reducing the transection rate to provide the best results. The list of procedures offered at Verso Surgery Centre is lengthy and comprehensive and includes: facelifts and facial implants, rhinoplasty, neck lifts, chin surgery, brow lifts and scar revision. Cosmetic treatments include dermal filler Botox and Xeomin, medical grade facials and peels, collagen induction therapy, mesotherapy and needle free electro mesotherapy. Verso also offers Viora skin tightening. Dr. Kolenda’s patients come from throughout the GTA as well as out-of-province. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and also holds a mem- bership at the American Board of Otolaryngology. As medical advances allow people to live longer and healthier lives, it’s no surprise that people want to look and feel better. Medical intervention can help slow down the aging process and redefine appearance. Verso Surgery Centre’s goal is the prevention, maintenance and correction of the aging face. Grand opening of the beautifully enhanced new Verso Sur- gery Centre will be held in early May. To contact the Centre, call 905-849-7560, 905-338-6673 or email [email protected]

Whether you are looking to put drapes in your bedroom, living, dining or family room or any other room with a window, the Drape Lady is your one-stop resource for window treatments, drapes, blinds, drapery hardware, curtain linings and drapery fabric. specializing in residential homes in Oakville, mississauga and burlington areas, the Drape Lady, who has won numerous readers choice awards for design and service, provides designs that reflect her client’s personality and lifestyle.

”it didn’t take me long to fall in love with the whole process of creating the ‘Perfect magic’ for my client’s windows and their living space,” Drape Lady elisabeth Wimmer explains.

before becoming the Drape Lady, elisabeth owned three bed and bath boutiques in toronto, mississauga and Oakville and it was there that she had her first and most humbling window treatment experience. “my customers kept asking me all the time if i could make a simple bedroom drape out of two king size sheets for them. i do like challenges and so i stepped up to the plate and learned how to measure, what hardware to use, what lining to use and how to figure things out,”

after a while elisabeth really began to enjoy working with windows and thought to herself, “if we can make drapes from bed sheets, we can also make them from fabrics.” soon after it became, “if we can make drapes for bedrooms we can also make them for living, dining, family rooms, etc…”

elisabeth sold her last store in 1990 and became the Drape Lady literally overnight. “i began working from my residence, which proved to have been one of my best business decisions ever,” she explains. “i didn’t really need a store

any longer as i was with my clients all day anyway.”

together with her clients, she develops the perfect style of window covering, be it formal, traditional, updated traditional, casually elegant or country. “i love the challenge of dressing architectural windows, and i also carry an endless variety of different high-quality fabrics, textures and blinds that create a conversation piece right in your home.”

years of professional retail and entrepreneurial experience have kept the Drape Lady a local treasure for more than 20 years. “between myself and my seamstresses, we have over 70 years of combined experience, which we constantly share and draw from. i also work closely together with my installer who is invaluable to my work. We have been working together for many years and we both enjoy the process of the installation and the final touches. i am very fortunate to be working with such a great team that supports each other through every stage of the creation.”

at the Drape Lady, elisabeth along with her team of seamstresses make sure that the job is completed from beginning to end and that all clients are 100 per cent happy with the quality and craftsmanship throughout. “Our goal is to find a practical solution to suit your needs and make your windows look great,” she says.
