Next Generation E-ticketing System (www.irctc.co.in) is a mission critical G2C service. The system, designed, developed, implemented &maintained by CRIS, provides e-reservation service to Indian Rail users through Internet all over the country. NGeT system has adopted a multi-layer modular architecture and state-of-the-art technology so as to meet the present day transactional load and expectations of the rail users. Raile-ticketing being a mission critical 24x7 service, NGeT implementation had to be done without causing any disruption to the existing service.Therefore, migration from the old system to NGeT was staggered in multiple phases. The work commenced in the year 2014 and has completed inDecember, 2016.

NGET Rollout Progression – Major Milestones Next Generation E-Ticketing (NGET) system launched by

honourable Minister of Railway on 13th August, 2014 with e-ticketfacility for normal users only.

NGET application has been designed to provide user friendlyinterface for visually impaired users. Visually impaired user canbook there tickets simply by using keyboard (without usingmouse). User may login to NGET through OTP. This feature wasrolled-out on 14th Jan, 2015.

NGET has implemented the facility of booking of e-tickets forDivyang passengers on their concessional passes. Earlier thefacility to book tickets on their passes was available only at thereservation counters. This feature was rolled-out on 2nd Feb,2015.

Bi-lingual e-ticketing website i.e. in Hindi and English. Thisfunctionality was launched by honourable Minister of Railway on8th July, 2015.

Capacity of NGET was enhanced in July, 2015 for PRS integrationlayer

Facility to Defence Personnel to book Railway PRS Tickets: NGEThas provided web services to Ministry of defence for integrationof their Booking system with Indian Railways. This feature wasrolled-out on 12th Aug, 2015.

Passengers can now cancel traintickets booked at counters through NGET and claim refund for thesame.

Facility to book train tickets on Indian Railways with anyinternational credit and debit card. This facility was inauguratedby honourable Minister of Railway on 29th April, 2016 to increaseinternational accessibility.

Feature of Travel Insurance to passengers booking through NGETsystem. This feature was rolled-out on 1st Sep, 2016.

To enhance the user experience and to further increase the userbase, a new Android based mobile app for PRS booking has beendeveloped to provide the power of Next Generation E-ticketingSystem to mobile users like High Performance & Uptime andEnhanced Security. The beta version of this mobile app waslaunched on 20th Dec, 2016 which has been subsequentlyreleased for users.

Next Generation E-ticketing System (www.irctc.co.in) is a mission critical G2C service. The system, designed, developed, implemented &maintained by CRIS, provides e-reservation service to Indian Rail users through Internet all over the country. NGeT system has adopted a multi-layer modular architecture and state-of-the-art technology so as to meet the present day transactional load and expectations of the rail users. Raile-ticketing being a mission critical 24x7 service, NGeT implementation had to be done without causing any disruption to the existing service.Therefore, migration from the old system to NGeT was staggered in multiple phases. The work commenced in the year 2014 and has completed inDecember, 2016.

NGET Rollout Progression – Major Milestones Next Generation E-Ticketing (NGET) system launched by

honourable Minister of Railway on 13th August, 2014 with e-ticketfacility for normal users only.

NGET application has been designed to provide user friendlyinterface for visually impaired users. Visually impaired user canbook there tickets simply by using keyboard (without usingmouse). User may login to NGET through OTP. This feature wasrolled-out on 14th Jan, 2015.

NGET has implemented the facility of booking of e-tickets forDivyang passengers on their concessional passes. Earlier thefacility to book tickets on their passes was available only at thereservation counters. This feature was rolled-out on 2nd Feb,2015.

Bi-lingual e-ticketing website i.e. in Hindi and English. Thisfunctionality was launched by honourable Minister of Railway on8th July, 2015.
