NGET Rollout Progression – Major Milestones Next Generation E-Ticketing (NGET) system launched by

honourable Minister of Railway on 13th August, 2014 with e-ticketfacility for normal users only.

NGET application has been designed to provide user friendlyinterface for visually impaired users. Visually impaired user canbook there tickets simply by using keyboard (without usingmouse). User may login to NGET through OTP. This feature wasrolled-out on 14th Jan, 2015.

Raile-ticketing being a mission critical 24x7 service, NGeT implementation had to be done without causing any disruption to the existing service.Therefore, migration from the old system to NGeT was staggered in multiple phases. The work commenced in the year 2014 and has completed inDecember, 2016.
