HYDROCAL 1008 is a permanently-installedmulti-gas-in-oilanalysissystemwithtransformermonitoringfunctions.Itallowsfortheindividualmeasurement of moisture and the key gaseshydrogen (H2), carbon monoxide (CO), carbondioxide(CO2),methane(CH4),acetylene(C2H2),ethylene (C2H4) andethane (C2H6) dissolved intransformer oil.

Ashydrogen(H2)isinvolvedinnearlyeveryfaultof the isolation system of power transformers and carbon monoxide (CO) is a sign of aninvolvement of the cellulosic/ paper isolationthe presence and increase of acetylene (C2H2) andethylene(C2H4)furtherclassifiesthenatureof a fault as overheating, partial discharge orhigh energy arcing.
