Although Saudi Arabia is one of the largest oilcountries in the world , it also has huge potential toincrease its income , and the Saudi government hasadopted several plans to diversify the economy,To achieve this goal:• The government seeks to stimulate tourism as

an important economic sector by creating asupportive environment.

• Opening the country to foreign investment.

In Saudi Arabia, and over the years, religioustourism has been prominent but the kingdom hassignificant tourist potential. This research willhighlight marketing strategies for local tourismactivities, especially festivals and events.

RESEARCH QUESTION

How can the execution of effective promotion and marketing strategies for local festivals affect tourism in Saudi Arabia?

BACKGROUND

METHODOLOGY

A mixed methods research strategy that isqualitative and quantitative research study. Inorder to attain data qualitatively, research willuse interviews could be with the tourismmarketing managers -privet or public- of SaudiArabia. questions will be asked to understandthe importance of tourism marketing ineconomic development and whether localfestivals can impact tourism in Saudi Arabia.Further, survey questions would be conductedby current tourists -local and international- inSaudi and whether the efforts implemented topromote local festivals have attracted them tovisit this country.

RESEARCH AIMIn line with Saudi Vision 2030, this research aim toexamines and evaluates effective destinationmarketing strategies for local tourism activities(e.g. festivals and events) in Saudi Arabia targetingboth domestic and international tourists. Thisresearch also assesses the importance of thetourism sector in Saudi Arabia’s economy.

To assess opportunities for localand international investors intourism projects to develop theSaudi tourism sector to attractmore tourists and to evaluate theimpacts of tourism marketing onSaudi Arabia’s economy
