IreneholdsaBachelor’sdegreeinIllustrationfromtheUniversityinBrightonandaMaster’sdegreeinInteractiveMultimediafromtheCyprusUniversityofTechnology.SheiscurrentlypursuingaMastersdegreeinFieldArchaeologyonLandandundertheSeaattheUniversityofCyprus.Herinterestindigitalapplicationsforarchaeologyandculturalheritageservedasthemotivationfordevelopinganimmersive3Dvisualizationapplication,aspartofherfirstMaster’sthesis.ShehasparticipatedintwounderwaterarchaeologicalprojectsinCyprus(NissiaShipwreck,in2014andMazotosShipwreck,in2015and2016).

ShehasbeenemployedasaresearchassistantattheMaritimeArchaeologicalResearchLaboratory(MARELab),UniversityofCyprus,sinceDecember2015,apositionexternallyfundedbytheHonorFrostFoundation,UnitedKingdom.IreneworksunderthedirectionofDrStellaDemestichaandsomeofherdutiesincludereconstructingthe3DsitemodelsforboththeMazotosandNissiashipwrecks,assistingwiththeorganisationofMARELabfieldworkprojectsaswellasconductingtrainingsessionsforstudentsonthedifferentapplicationsusedinMARELabprojects.
