Introduction to the Site
After surveying and consulting with our
tutor, we choose this site for our project which is located at Lorong Kumpang 6, Taman Ridgeway, 93200 Kuching, Sarawak. It is an empty land which is surrounded by residential area as shown in the pictures above. We find that it is wasteful to let it remain blank and unused as it is located in the center of residential area which have development potential on various purposes to benefit the residents. Thus, we decided to start our development project on it.

Introduction
In this final project, we are given a task to find a specific empty land with a maximum size of 900m² to initiate a small construction project on it in a group of 2 people. For this project, we have to do research on the types of building development, for instance, recreation area, commercial area, industrial area, agricultural area, tourism area and residential area. In this plan proposal, we should include suggestion, rationale, benefits, site analysis, evaluation and the requirement of the project. For our group, we come out with an outcome to use the empty land located in Kuching, Sarawak. Thus, I decided to build a sport recreation centre on this empty land for my individual report.

Sketch Plan of Proposal
This mini sport stadium is equipped with complete facilities to enable the residents to enjoy a standard quality environment of exercise. The stadium consists of 2 storeys, which have an indoor basketball court on the ground floor whereas two volleyball courts, two badminton courts, and a yoga studio on the first floor as well. Therefore, different types of games can be carried out at the same time. Other than that, it also solve the problem of space insufficiency for exercise which often occur in the reality life. In the mini stadium, there are two glass sliding door as the main entrance located on each side of the stadium for easy access. Beside that, two staircases is provided too near the entrance which connected the ground floor to the second floor. Since the entrance is faced to the parking area, thus there would be no problem for the visitor to access the stadium and explore throughout the entire building. For the interior ground floor area, the stadium are accommodated with two sides of audience seats that are distributed scientifically to avoid any visual obstruction provide the audience a good view during the game is

Concept
This construction plan proposal is designed based on the 30m×30m empty land located at Kuching, Sarawak. The aim of this construction is to transform the unused empty land into a place that can benefit the residents. After surveying, I found that there is no any place provided for the residents to exercise in this area. Thus, I decided to start a construction of a mini sport stadium on this empty land, which accommodate with 3 kinds of courts, a yoga studio and a coffeehouse to provide a sufficient space for the residents to enjoy exercising under a complete equipped environment. Residents can enjoy some popular indoor sport activities, for example, basketball, badminton and volleyball. Besides that, small games competition or matches can be held at here as the facilities are complete equipped. After considered every single problems, I had came out with an outcome of the design of my site which makes it become an unique place that is suitable for exercise and training. The stadium is a recreation area, which is designed to be constructed using sustainable and environment-‐friendly construction materials.

This building is generally eco-‐friendly and the concept of the entire building is basically based on the green building concept. The outer part of the building is a combination of steel and glass that is counted as elements of recycled-‐content building materials.

Rationale and Benefits
There is a lot of reasons and benefits to built this stadium. First, the location of or site is strategic in the city with a big empty surface area. The surplus empty spaces after the complete construction of the stadium can be considered to build as a car park to make the circulation and access for the residents and public to the stadium very convenient and comfortable. This construction plan is targeting majorly on the residents in Taman Hwata as this area is lack of a sport recreation area. In fact, the stadium serves free and standard sport equipment and facilities for public to encourage the residents to be more active in sports and also encourage the teenagers to relax through a positive ways. Besides that, the stadium also can promote the relation between neighborhoods. Sports bring many benefits to us, it’s not only improves our health physically but also empower youth and promote higher self-‐esteem among the teenagers. Other than that, it also motivates students in their studies, which lead them to get better grades. Playing sports also can create friendships and extend social networks because sports gather peoples

together from different places, backgrounds, and communities. Many times, the friendships that create on the field remain intact even when you are not playing sports. Overall, this recreational development plan brings a lot of benefits and comfortable for the residents.

Construction Industry . In this project I was given a task to find a specific empty land to initiate a small construction project. The size of the land shall between 900m2 (30m x 30m) – 1200m2 ( 30m x 40m) and come out with a proposal.
I have decided to develop a commercial area on the land that we found . PROJECT CONCEPT 3.1 PROJECT CONCEPT
The construction plan is design on 30 x 30 in Lorong Kumpang 6, Taman Ridgeway, 93200 Kuching, Sarawak . It conceive two kind of commercial area . It is a sufficient space for the resident staying around to enjoy the good facilities provided at the commercial building .
Furthermore , the part which I really highlighted in my commercial building is the Drive-‐ Thru Laundry , people nowadays have a very tight schedule of life , therefore drive-‐ thru laundry will bring a lot of benefit to everyone.
There is also a lovely café inside the building . The café is where people have a little break time while waiting for the cloths to be collect .

JUSTIFICATION
Building a commercial area on the empty land
has made it a business opportunity with great potential . Drive – Thru Laundry + Coffee shop .
According to my research and also my own experience living Malaysia , Malaysia has a very unpredictable weather country . Due to this issue many people complain especially business man , student even house wife complain about the weather in Malaysia . What they complain ? People complaint on a sunny day out of sudden it will rain and all clothes are wet again before it dry completely . This make people very angry .
People are rushing with time nowadays . Everyone has a very tight life schedule . A drive thru (Pick & Pay & Go) will be more convenient for everyone . But there is also a sitting area and a coffee shop to relax inside this commercial building .
Resident staying in this area can walk to this Drive-‐ Thru laundry . 1 min walking distance from housing area . You might see your neighbor which you haven’t seen them before . Higher chance of getting know more people staying at your neighborhood .
Therefore , in my opinion opening a drive thru -‐ laundry shop in Kuching ,Malaysia has a very high potential .
