LIBRARY TALK TIMELast Thursday at 2.20 pm a small group of parents came along to our Talk time about our school li-brary, popular books children are reading and how you can support your child with reading and using the library. A feature this time was the group of seniors who very confidently shared books and authors that they found interesting. Even though it
was a small group of parents we will continue making ourselves available in this format as it is a nice opportuntity for any parents to chat with the school leaders and informally ask any questions. Keep an eye out for the next session advertised.
INTERSCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY Today our cross country teams proudly rep-resented the school in the interschool event at Porritt Stadium. The results will be in next weeks newsletter.
YEAR 6 SKI OPTIONThis week the year 6 Outdoor Education Op-tions programme started with 23 children heading to Whakapapa for their first experi-ence of skiing with Miss Cramond, Mrs Pal-mer, myself and three great supporting par-ents. Unfortunately due to the inclement weather ski lessons were cancelled for the week. We were unable to go skiing but the children still got to enjoy the snow. The next challenging options in term four include ad-venture caving, horse riding, yachting and rock climbing. All part of exposing our chil-dren to new experiences, building confidence and an appreciation of the outdoors.

The oak trees are giants
creeping towards us.
Leaves are parachuting from the trees.
The classrooms are booming with learning.
Kids are playing happily with their friends.
Our field is a huge grassy mat.
The senior's playground is
Hukanui's Egyptian pyramid.
Children swing from bar to bar like monkeys.
Art work is dancing in your head when you enter classrooms.
Hukanui is your own dream.
