Sources of Data for Calibration• National Climatic Data Center (NCDC)

– Hourly precipitation (thru Feb, 2008 for legacy programs, 2005 for Browser)– Daily precipitation (through May, 2008 for legacy programs, 2005 for Browser)– Max, min temperature– Snow on Ground – Synoptic Data– Evaporation data.

• U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)– Mean daily flow– Peak flow– Lake elevation– Pool elevation– Storage– Measurements (note: recently removed due to concerns)

RFC Data

• A recent request for old NWSRFS data triggered an effort to retrieve all archived NWSRFS data for the period from 1996-Sept 2005. The data has been extracted from tape and placed on an OHD server. An inventory of NWSRFS files was then created on a RFC-by-RFC basis and can be found at: http://amazon.nws.noaa.gov/hdsb/data/nwsrfs/nwsrfs.html.
