efitted by these provisions,national general secretary,Krishan Sharma said whileaddressing media persons here,today along with State president,Pt. Rajesh Kesri, Senior vicepresident Vinay Jalandharia,Satish Mahajan from Punjab andAbdul Khalid Bhat fromKashmir. The so called ‘experts’are misleading the people byadvocating for Article 370, headded.

Sharma slammed CoalitionGovernment for allowing the set-tlement of over 6,000 RohingyaMuslims in Hindu dominatedJammu region even as they havegot the work permits from theGovernment of India to carry outdifferent jobs in the State.

He asked the StateGovernment to take measures to“stop” the illegal settlement ofBangladeshi Muslims. He saidthat the Rohingya Muslims startedcoming to Jammu region over sixyears back and “over a period oftime their number has increased”.

The villagers alleged thatmotor of Harni PHE PumpingStation went out of order aweek back. With this, the watersupply to several adjoining vil-lages and hamlets has beenaffected. The matter was alsobrought to the notice of PHE

NSF protests JU decision on introduction of tuition fee


JAMMU, Oct 2: NationalSecular Forum (NSF) todaystaged a demonstration againstauthorities of University ofJammu (JU) for adopting dis-criminatory approach againststudents by proposed introduc-tion of tuition fee for all itscourses from the academic ses-sion 2018-19.

Led by NSF State president,Dr Vikas Sharma, scores ofactivists raised slogans againstthe VC. Addressing the protest-ing activists, Dr Sharma said,“The varsity authorities havebeen spending crores of rupeeson their luxury out of the institu-tion’s exchequer and the same isdrying up fast. Now to make up

the same they have devised anew method i.e. introduction oftuition fee @ Rs 3000 forScience subjects and Rs 2000for Non-Science subjects overabove the annual hike of 10 per-cent in fee every since 2014.”

Stating that the move willput extra burden on thousands ofstudents studying in PG depart-ments and colleges affiliated toJammu University, Dr Sharmademanded withdrawal of resolu-tion of University Syndicate,which passed the Item No112.04 that sought the introduc-tion of tuition fee for UG, PG, MPhil and PhD programmes.
