START WITH THE AUTHOR’S NAME
Name formatting is: Last, First Middle.

Middle names and middle initials follow the first name.
Don’t turn middle names into initials or skip the middle name.

ADD THE TITLE:
Capitalize all titles correctly! Capitalizing Titles Guide
AND SUBTITLE
Use a colon after the title, if there is a subtitle.

Put punctuation at the end of the title. Put punctuation at the end of the title. It’s almost always a period.
THE EDITION
The X on your bibliography worksheet is just a place holder. It shows that you looked for the edition and there either wasn’t one listed, or it was the 1st edition.
When you write up your citation, you will skip over the X if you have one, but include any other edition information. Ex: 6th ed.
