B.C.secondaryschoolstudentswhoareenrolledinGrade10,11or12mustcompleteGraduationTransitions.GraduationTransitionsisintendedtopreparestudentsforasuccessfultransitiontolifeaftersecondaryschool.Inordertomeetthisgoal,GraduationTransitionsencouragesstudentsto:

• takeownershipoftheirownhealthandlearning• examineanddemonstrateconnectionsbetweentheirlearningandtheirfuture• createaplanfortheirgrowthanddevelopmentasskilled,healthy,knowledgeable,

participatingcitizens• exhibitattributesofamodelB.C.graduate

AllB.C.secondaryschoolstudentsmustdemonstratetheyhavemetthefollowingrequirementsfor:

1. PersonalHealth–maintainapersonalhealthplanandparticipateinatleast150minutesperweekofmoderatetovigorousphysicalactivity(150hoursintotalovergrades11and12).

2. CommunityConnections–participateinatleast30hoursofworkexperienceand/orcommunityserviceanddescribewhatwaslearned.

3. CareerandLife–completeatransitionplanandpresentsignificantaccomplishments.

Anumberofassignmentsmustbecompletedtooursatisfactionwithinthefirstsemesterofyourgrade12year.Thisinformationaswellasotherhelpfulresourcescanbefoundontheschoolwebsite:langleysecondary.comundertheGRADZONE/GT12.StudentsmustcompletealloftheassignmentsbyChristmas.Pleasekeepinmindthatphysicalactivityhoursandwork/volunteerexperiencehoursarehourscompletedinyourgrade11and12yearonly.Thisgraduationrequirementisnotgradedbuttheassignmentsmustbecompletedbytheduedates.TheadvisorswillreviewthepackagesubmittedandyourworkonlineinMyblueprint.ca.Ifthecriteriahavenotbeenmetinthepackage,itwillbereturnedtoyou.Youmustcompleteallofthecriteriatooursatisfactiontoreceivea“RequirementsMet”onyourreportcardandtranscript.ThepackageandtheonlineMyblueprint.carequirementsaswellasthepresentationmustbecompletedtooursatisfactiontomeetthisgraduationrequirement.ThecriteriaforyourpresentationwillbesharedwithyouinNovember.FinalpresentationswillhappeninDecember2015.GradTransitionsAdvisors:LastNamesA-L:Mr.Harris,VicePrincipalLastNamesM-Z:Mr.Wicker,VicePrincipalMs.Babecoff-Kimhi,Counsellor

b. ClickonthePurpleboxanditwillopenupahighschoolplannerc. UsingyourDVRforreference,listallofthecoursesyouhavecompletedin

thepast.d. Thenenterthecoursesyouaretakingthisyear.Finally,enteranycourses

thatyouhavetakentowardsgraduationthathaven’talreadybeenaccountedfor(externalcourses,grade10coursesyoutookingrade9,dualcreditcourses,KwantlenXcelcoursesetc…)
