‘Amarone-Massage, Traubenkernbutterpackung oder Vino-Kosmetik –

Wellness mit Wein ist auch am Gardasee voll im Trend. Immer mehr

Wellness-Hotels, Spas oder Therme arbeiten hier mittlerweile mit der

Weintraube, die sich für viel mehr als nur zum Trinken eignet. Vinothera-

pie heißt das Zauberwort. Sie wurde in den 90er Jahren in Frankreich von

Mathilde Cathiard-Thomas ins Leben gerufen, ihr eigentlicher Ursprung liegt

jedoch bereits in der Antike. Schon der griechische Arzt Hippokrates setzte

Wein zu Heilungszwecken ein, um Fieber oder Magen-Darm-Beschwerden zu

lindern, die ägyptische Königin Cleopatra liebte Massagen mit Traubenmost,

und im Mittelalter kam dann kaltgepresstes Traubenkernöl als Hautpfl egemit-

tel in Mode. Und darum geht es auch in der Vinotherapie. Extrakte aus dem

Traubenkern sollen dazu beitragen, Wohlbefi nden, Schönheit und Gesundheit

zu fördern. Neben Traubenkernöl und gemahlenen Traubenkernen wird auch

dem Traubensaft oder dem Weintrester eine heilsame Wirkung zugesprochen.

Außerdem werden die äußerlichen Anwendungen oft durch den Genuss von

Traubenprodukten ergänzt. Ebenfalls ein Genuss sind Weinbäder. Sie beleben

den Kreislauf und stärken das Immunsystem.

Weintrauben enthalten Fruchtsäure, Spurenelemente und zahlreiche Vit-

amine. In ihrer Schale und den Kernen sind viele Vitalstoffe enthalten, unter

anderem die Polyphenole. Sie haben eine natürliche antioxidative Wirkung,

schützen die Haut vor schädlichen Umwelteinfl üssen und beugen der Haut-

alterung vor. Und so sorgen die Gardasee-Trauben neuerdings nicht nur für

Gaumenfreuden, sondern auch für gesunde Haut und entspannte Seelen.

only for the palate, but also for healthy skin and relaxed souls.

‘Was wäre der Gardasee-Sommer ohne Feuerwerke? Doch zum

Glück werden auch dieses Jahr im Juli, August und September

rund um den See wieder etliche Dorf-, Volks- und Gästefest gefei-

ert. Ob zu Ehren des örtlichen Schutzpatrons, der Urlauber oder einer

lokalen kulinarischen Spezialität – ausgelassene Stimmung ist garantiert.

Und zum Abschluss gibt es in der Regel ein knallig buntes, pompöses

Feuerwerk, das in der malerischen Kulisse des Sees einen unvergess-

lichen Anblick bietet. Hier eine Übersicht der Feuerwerkstermine der

nächsten Wochen, allerdings ohne Gewähr.

Klassische Musik

in den Villen des

Valpolicella

‘Erstklassige Konzerte in einmaligem Am-

biente erwarten Klassik-Liebhaber bei der

erfolgreichen Veranstaltung „Musica in Villa“,

die inzwischen zum 18. Mal im Valpolicella aus-

getragen wird. Der malerische Landstrich östlich

des Gardasees ist neben seinem Wein auch für

seine prächtigen Villen bekannt. In einigen von ih-

nen werden noch bis zum 13. September 2012

Meisterwerke der klassischen europäischen Musik

dargeboten. Seit vier Ausgaben hat es sich „Musi-

ca in Villa” zum Thema gemacht, den Wurzeln der

europäischen Klassik nachzuspüren und schickt

das Publikum so dieses Jahr auf eine Reise, von

Mittelerde nach Venedig und Wien. Die Konzer-

termine für Juli sind der 5., 13., 17. und 26. Im Au-

gust fi nden keine Konzerte statt und im September

wird am 9. und 13. gespielt. Das komplette Pro-

‘With the 18th edition of the succesful event

„Musica in Villa“ music lovers can expect

fi rst-class concerts in the unique setting of

the Valpolicella. This picturesque stretch of land,

east of the lake, is known for its wine and for

its magnifi cent villas. In some of these villas are

presented until 13 September masterpieces of

European classical music. Since 2008 „Musica in

Villa“ wants to strike at the roots of European clas-

sical music. This year the music accompanies the

audience on a journey from Middle-earth to Venice

and Vienna. The concerts take place the 5, 13, 17

and 26 of July. In August there are no concerts, in

September on the 9 and 13 will be held two con-

certs. The detailed program can be found on the

the concerts in July can be seen on our event ca-

Preisgekröntes Performing Art-Festival

‘Das kleine Örtchen Dro im Garda Trentino ist

weit über Italien hinaus als Zentrum der Per-

forming Art bekannt. In einem noch aktiven

Wasserkraftwerk, der „Centrale Fies“, im alpinen

Sarca-Tal wird neben Energie auch erstklassige

moderne Kunst erzeugt. Und jeden Sommer ver-

anstaltet die Performing Art-Gruppe der „Cen-

trale Fies“ hier das mehrfach preisgekrönte Fes-

tival „Drodesera Fies“. „We folk“ so der Titel der

diesjährigen 32. Ausgabe, die zwischen dem 20.

und 28. Juli veranstaltet wird. Nationale und inter-

nationale Künstler werden in unterschiedlichsten

Darbietungen ihre Interpretation des Themas ge-

ben. Das Publikum erwartet ein bunter Mix zeit-

genössischer Ausdrucksformen, der von Perfor-

mance, Theater, Tanz und Musik über plastische

Kunst bis zu Videoinstallationen reicht. Außerdem

wird ihm in diesem Jahr mit den so genannten

„street games“ die Möglichkeit gegeben, mehr als

nur passiver Rezipient zu sein. Es gibt Performan-

ces für ein limitiertes Publikum, die so ein sehr inti-

mes Ambiente haben, sowie verschiedene andere

Darbietungen, die die Zuschauer mit einbeziehen.

of Performing Arts. In the seat of the „Cen-

trale Fies”, a still working water power

plant situated in the alpine Sarca Valley,

energy as well as fi rst-class modern art

is produced. And every summer the

Performing Art Group of the „Centrale

Fies“ organizes here the multi-award

winning festival „Drodesera Fies”. The

title of this year‘s 32st edition, that

takes place from 20 to 28 July, is „We

folk“. National and international artists

will perform their interpretation of this

theme. The audience can expect a co-

lorful mix of contemporary forms of ex-

pression: theatre, dance, music, plastic

art and even video installations. This

year the audience is not only a passive

recipient, the „street games“ will invol-

‘Ein musikalischer Event der ganz besonderen Art sind „I Suoni delle

Dolomiti – Die Klänge der Dolomiten“, die jeden Sommer in den trentiner

Bergen veranstaltet werden. Interessante Musiker aus der ganzen Welt,

machen sich gemeinsam mit dem Publikum auf den Weg zu den schöns-

ten Gipfeln des Trentino, vereint durch die Liebe zur Musik sowie zur Natur.

Unkonventioneller kann ein Konzert kaum sein. Die Musiker erklimmen die

Berge mit ihren Instrumenten auf der Schulter, setzen sich am Ende des We-

ges auf einen Felsen oder ins Gras, umringt vom Publikum, das sich inmitten

herrlichster Natur von großartigen Klängen verzaubern lassen kann. „I Suoni

delle Dolomiti“ fi nden in diesem Jahr vom 30. Juni bis 31. August statt. Die

Stilrichtungen der Konzerte reichen von Klassik bis Jazz, von Autorenliedern

bis zur Chormusik, von Weltmusik bis Pop. Die Aufstiege zu den Konzertorten

haben unterschiedliche Schwierigkeitsgrade. Diese wie auch das komplet-

‘A very special musical event is „I Suoni delle Dolomiti - Sounds of the

Dolomites“, which takes place every summer in the Trentino mountains.

United by their love of music and nature, interesting musicians from

around the world together with the audience make themselves on the way to

the most beautiful Trentino peaks. A concert can hardly be more unconventi-

onal. The musicians climb the mountains with their instruments on the shoul-

ders, sit down at the end of the path on a rock or on the grass, surrounded

by the audience that is enchanted by great sounds. „I Suoni delle Dolomiti“ is

held this year from 30 June to 31 August. The concert’s music styles range

from classical to jazz, from author songs to choral music, from world music

to pop. The ascents to the concert locations have different levels of diffi culty.

‘Ein Ausfl ug an den Ledrosee lohnt sich immer. Bis zum 30. August je-

doch ganz besonders, denn im Pfahlbaumuseum „Museo delle Palafi t-

te“ in Molina di Ledro stehen in den Sommermonaten mit der Initiative

„Palafi ttando“ – vor allem für die jüngeren Besucher - jede Menge interessante

Workshops auf dem Programm. Los geht es am 8. Juli mit der so genannten

„Palafi ttiadi“, einer prähistorischen Olympiade mit außergewöhnlichen Diszi-

plinen wie Bogenschießen, Feuermachen, Tonen, Leinenweben und vielem

mehr. Bis einschließlich 30. August können Kinder ab 6 Jahren dann mehrmals

wöchentlich jede Menge Spannendes über das prähistorische Leben erfahren

und ausprobieren. Und vom 28. Juni bis 30. August gibt es jeden Donnerstag

um 11.00 Uhr eine einstündige deutschsprachige Museumsführungen. Das

Das Pfahlbaumuseum hat von März bis Juni und von September bis No-

vember täglich außer montags von 9.00 bis 17.00 Uhr geöffnet, im Juli und

‘A trip to Lake Ledro is always worth it. But particularly during the sum-

mer, when in the stilt house museum „Museo delle Palafi tte“ in Molina

di Ledro the initiative „Palafi ttando” is scheduled. This means a lot of

interesting workshops - especially for younger visitors – until 30 August. They

begin on 8 July with the so-called „Palafi ttiadi“, a prehistoric olimpiade with

outstanding disciplines such as archery, fi re lighting, pottery, weaving and

more. Several times a week children from 6 years on can experience and try

‘Sechs Kilometer werden die Teilnehmer des

„1. Giro a nuoto dell’Isola del Garda“ zu-

rücklegen, wenn sie am 14. Juli 2012 von

der Baia del Vento in San Felice del Benaco zum

Hafen von Portese schwimmen. Nachdem in den

letzten fünf Jahren der Gardasee zwischen Torri

del Benaco und Toscolano Maderno schwimmend

überquert wurde, wird dieses Jahr zum ersten Mal

die malerische Insel Isola del Garda umschwom-

men. Dieser von der Organspendeorganisation

AIDO, beziehungsweise deren Ortsgruppe aus

San Felice del Benaco, organisierte Wohltätig-

keits-Sportevent fi ndet mittlerweile bereits zum

sechsten Mal am Gardasee statt. Es handelt sich

um ein Schwimmen für Jedermann, das in den

vergangenen Jahren stetig wachsendes Interesse

ausgelöst hat. Obwohl die Veranstaltung keinen

Wettkampfcharakter besitzt, werden die Zeiten al-

ler Schwimmerinnen und Schwimmer genommen,

und die schnellste Schwimmerin erhält eine klei-

ne Auszeichnung. Los geht es um 16.30 Uhr. Ab

21.00 Uhr fi ndet im hübschen Hafen von Portese

ein kleines Fest mit Bewirtung und Musik vom Titti

da was crossed swimming from Torri del Benaco

to Toscolano Maderno. This year the participants

will swim around the beautiful island Isola del Gar-

da. The event, that this year is in its sixth edition,

is organized by the organ donation association

AIDO, or more precisely from the local branch of

San Felice del Benaco. It is a swimming contest

for everybody, which has obtained in the last ye-

ars an increasing interest. Although the event has

not a competitive character, all swimmers are ti-

med and the fastest female swimmer will receive

‘Die Azienda Agricola Manestrini gehört zu

den ältesten Ölmühlen am Gardasee. Hier

Die Zitronengärten

von Limone

‘Terrassenförmig an den nordwestlichen Gardasee gebaut liegt das Ört-

chen Limone sul Garda am Fuße eines steilen Berghanges. Oberhalb

davon erstrecken sich unzählige Olivenhaine und charakteristische Zi-

tronengärten. Der Zitronengarten „Limonaia del Castèl“ ist eines der Wahr-

zeichen des beliebten Touristenortes. Vor etwa 400 Jahren wurde in dem

malerischen Örtchen begonnen, Zitronen anzubauen. Um die Früchte in den

Wintermonaten vor Witterungseinfl üssen zu schützen, wurden terrassenför-

mig angelegte Gewächshäuser errichtet, zwischen deren Steinmauern und

–pfeilern man von November bis März Bretter oder Glasscheiben einsetzte.

Die über die Jahrhunderte erhalten gebliebenen Mauern und Pfeiler der so

genannten Limonaie prägen noch heute das Landschaftsbild von Limone. Der

größte Zitronengarten des Ortes ist der „Limonaia del Castèl“, der von Mai

bis September täglich zwischen 10.00 und 22.00 Uhr besucht werden kann,

im April und Oktober ist er von 10.00 – 18.00 Uhr geöffnet. Besichtigungen

außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten sowie Führungen für Gruppen können unter +39

‘Lying at the bottom of a steep mountain in the north-western part of Lake

Garda the little village of Limone sul Garda is arranged in terraces. Above

the village innumerable olive groves and characteristic lemon gardens

extend over the hill. The lemon house „Limonaia del Castel“ is one of the

symbols of Limone sul Garda. About 400 years ago people began to grow le-

mons in the picturesque village. In order to protect the plants during the winter

months from the weather, terraced greenhouses were built. Between the stone

walls and the pillars which surround the lemon rows the farmers used to put

wooden or glass boards from November to March. These remaining walls and

pillars of the so-called „limonaie“ have been preserved over centuries and are

characteristic of Limone‘s landscape. The largest lemon house of the village

is the „Limonaia del Castel“ that can can be visited from May until September

between 10.00 and 22.00 o‘clock, in April and October from 10.00 to 18.00

RS Eurocup

in Riva del Garda

‘Sie sind die Stars des nördlichen Gardasees: Ora und Pelér, der warme

Südwind und der frische Nordwind. Vor allem von Juni bis September

wehen sie höchst zuverlässig – im Norden auch sehr kräftig – und sor-

gen so für die berühmte Windbeständigkeit des Gardasees. Diese macht ins-

besondere den nördlichen Teil des Sees seit Jahrzehnten zu einem beliebten

Segel- bzw. Wassersportrevier. Jedes Jahr werden am Lago etliche lokale,

nationale und internationale Regatten der verschiedensten Klassen ausgetra-

gen. Und so fi ndet dieses Jahr vom 16. bis 27. Juli der RS Eurocup in Riva

del Garda statt, ein Event, der alle zwei Jahre in das lebhafte Städtchen am

nördlichen Gardasee kommt. Rund 400 Segler werden hierzu erwartet. Sie

starten für den RS Eurocup in den Kategorien RS 200 und RS 400, für die

Europameisterschaften in den Kategorien RS 100, 700 und 800 und für die

Weltmeisterschaften in der Kategorie RS 500. Die von der Fraglia Vela Riva

ausgerichtete Veranstaltung erfreut sich vor allem bei Engländern großer Be-

liebtheit, die auch die Mehrzahl der Teilnehmer stellen. Umrahmt wird die 10-

tägige Regatta von einem abwechslungsreichen Unterhaltungsprogramm und

‘They are the stars of the northern Lake Garda: Ora and Peler, the warm

south wind and the fresh north wind. From June to September they blow

very reliably - and very strong in the north - and thus they ensure the

famous wind resistance of the lake. Especially the northern part of the lake is

a popular sailing and water sports area for decades. On the lake each year

will be held several local, national and international regattas of various clas-

ses. This year from 16 to 27 July it is the turn of the RS Eurocup in Riva del

Garda, an event which the lively town on the northern lake hosts every two

years. About 400 sailors are expected to be present. For the RS Eurocup they

start in the categories RS 200 and RS 400, for the European Championships

in the categories RS 100, 700 and 800, and for the world championships in

the category RS 500. The regatta is organized by Fraglia Vela Riva and enjoys

great popularity, especially among English people, which also constitute the

majority of the participants. The 10-day regatta is complemented by a varied

Mittelalter-Fest des

Trentino

‘Das „Rustico Medioevo“ gehört zu den ältesten Mittelalter-Festen Italiens

und war das erste seiner Art im Trentino. Kulisse der berühmten Veran-

staltung ist das kleine Örtchen Canale di Tenno mit seinem hinreißenden

mittelalterlichen Charme. Vom 4. bis 12. August 2012 tauchen hier Einheimi-

sche und Besucher in die Faszination vergangener Zeiten ein. Hofdamen und

Ritter, Mägde und Knechte, Dichter und Spielleute bevölkern die engen Gäss-

chen, Höfe und Plätze. Auf der Bühne am Markplatz werden mittelalterliche

Tänze und Musik, Theater und Straßenkunst sowie Poesie, Märchen, Sagen

und Legenden dargeboten. Auch das Essen steht in diesen Tagen in Canale

di Tenno ganz in der mittelalterlichen Tradition und so bekommt man unter an-

derem „polenta e peveraa“ serviert. Das volkstümliche trentiner „Arme-Leute-

Essen“ besteht aus Polenta mit einer Mischung aus Brotbröseln und der für

die Gegend typischen Bratwurst „Lucanica“ und ist zu einem Symbol des

„Rustico Medioevo“ geworden. Während der Festtage gibt es aber auch viele

andere typische Gerichte der lokalen Küche zu probieren und – wie es sich

für ein mittelalterliches Dorf eben gehört – jede Menge Wein.

Canale di Tenno gilt als eines der schönsten Dörfer des Trentino und hier

scheint auch an Nicht-Festtagen die Zeit stehengeblieben zu sein. Vom Garda-

see kommend erreicht man Canale di Tenno am besten über Riva del Garda

‘The „Rustico Medioevo“ is one of the oldest medieval festivals in Italy

and was the fi rst of its kind in Trentino. It takes place in the small town of

Canale di Tenno. With its medieval charm the town invites from 4 to 12

August 2012 inhabitants and visitors to immerse themselves in the fascinating

past. Ladies and knights, maids and servants, poets and musicians populate

the narrow alleyways, courtyards and squares. On the stage of the market

square medieval dances and music, theatre and street art as well as poetry,

fairy tales, myths and legends are presented. Even the food served in Canale

di Tenno during these days refl ects the medieval tradition, as for example the

„polenta e peveraa“. The Trentino dish of the common people consists of po-

lenta with a mixture of bread crumbs and the typical local sausage „Lucanica“.

This food has become one of the symbols of the „Rustico Medioevo“. During

the festival there are also many other typical dishes of the local cuisine to taste,

and - as it is usual in medieval villages - lots of wine.

Canale di Tenno is one of the most beautiful villages of Trentino and here

it seems that time has stopped, even in week-days. Coming from Lake Garda

you can reach Canale di Tenno through Riva del Garda with the SS421 road.

Heirate michin Verona

Vom 15. bis 22. Juli 2012 wird der FC Bayern München wieder im Garda

Trentino zu Gast sein. Es ist das dritte Jahr in Folge, dass die Profi s aus Mün-

chen den Gardasee bzw. die Städtchen Riva und Arco für ihr Sommertraining

Auch in diesem Jahr gibt es neben den Opernfestspielen wieder einige groß-

artige Rock- und Popkonzerte in der Arena. Am 9. Juli gibt Antonello Venditti

sein einziges Konzert in Italien und am 16. Juli werden Duran Duran erwartet.

Weiter geht es dann im September und zwar am 14. mit Giorgia, am 15. mit dem

großartigen Ennio Morricone und am 25. kommt schließlich sogar noch Leonard

Cohen nach Verona.

From 15 to 22 July the Garda Trentino region will host again the FC Bayern

Munich. It is the third year in a row that the professional football players from

Munich have chosen Lake Garda, or more precisely the little towns of Riva

Besides the Opera Festival there are also this year some great rock and pop

concerts in the arena. On 9 July it is the turn of Antonello Venditti with his only

concert in Italy and on 16 July the Duran Duran are expected. It continues on

14 September and with Giorgia, the 15th with the great Ennio Morricone and on the

25th even Leonard Cohen comes to Verona.

Der Gardasee ist der größte See Italiens,

der größte der Oberitalienischen Seen. Der

Gardasee wurde durch den Etschgletscher in

der vergangenen Eiszeit geformt, dessen Spuren

man noch heute verfolgen kann. Zwischen den

Alpen und der Poebene liegt der Gardasee

im Norden in der Region Trentino-Südtirol, im

Westen in der Lombardei, im Osten in Venetien.

Damit teilen sich die drei Provinzen Trento

(Norden), Verona (Osten) und Brescia (Westen)

die Verwaltung. Während das nördliche Ufer des

Sees von Zweitausendern der Gardaseeberge

wie z. B. dem Monte Baldo umsäumt ist, liegt

das südliche Ufer bereits in der Ebene. Das Klima

ist aufgrund der Lage sub-mediterran mit heißen

Sommern und niederschlagsarmen, milden

Wintern. Die Jahresdurchschnittstemperatur

liegt zwischen 13 und 15° C.

Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy. Glaciers

formed this alpine region at the end of the last

ice age. The lake and its shoreline are divided

between the provinces of Verona (southeast),

Brescia (southwest), and Trento (north). Being easily

accessible from the north via the Brenner Pass,

the lake is a major tourist destination, including a

number of exclusive hotels and resorts along its

shore. The northern part of the lake is narrower,

surrounded by mountains, the majority of which

belong to the Mount Baldo chain. The shape

is typical of a moraine valley, probably having

been formed under the action of a Palaeolithic

glacier. The climate is sub-Mediterranean with

hot summers and low rainfall, mild winters. The

annual average temperature is 13-15° C.
