Sermon NotesGalatians 2:20

Introduction 

1.  Relinquishing all trust in our own goodness.“I have been crucified with Christ.” 

1.1 Jesus died in our place.

1.2 The radical truth here is that we also died with him!

1.3 Because of dying in Christ, we are called to die daily to

the world, the flesh, and the devil –  our three greatenemies.

2.  Embracing our Holy Spirit-given new life in Christ.“It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” 

2.1   No one is able to live the Christian life on his or her own.

2.2 Christ’s life flows through us as we yield to the Holy

Spirit.

3.  Entrusting our entire life to Christ alone.“And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of

God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

  What was my life like before I repented and trusted in Jesus

  What were the circumstances that led me to salvation? (Who

shared the gospel with you? What was going on in your life at

the time? What verses of Scripture helped you see that youneed a Saviour, and that this Saviour was Jesus Christ?)

  How has my life changed since becoming a Christian?

3.  In light of the change that the Scripture describes coming into a

 person’s life when they are born again (Eph. 2:1-10; 2 Cor. 5:17),how would you counsel someone who claimed to be a Christian,

 but gave no evidence of having been changed?
