Parent Teacher Conferences
We truly enjoyed the opportunity to meet with so many
of you in January. We realize that the winter weather
has made it difficult to get out, but we do appreciate
that you were able to join us for conferences. Tuesday,
February 20 is our next conference day. If you signed up
to come on that day, we look forward to seeing you.
Please remember, there is no school on that date.
CDNS Registration
Registration for the 2018-19 CDNS school year has begun
for currently enrolled CDNS families. Be sure to return
your forms promptly as some classes fill up quickly. All
classes are filled on a first come basis. Forms are availa-
ble in the preschool office. Open registration for the
community will begin on February 5, 2018.
Chili Cook-Off
Please support CDNS by coming to our 2nd annual chili
cook-off The event will be held Sunday, February 11 from
12:00-2:00. There will be children’s games, activities,
and a silent auction. The auction will have many unique
and wonderful items and gift baskets. There will be chili,
hot dogs, Jo Jos, chips and desserts.
Reminder
Please remember to have your child wear gym shoes on
Large Motor days. We do not like to have any child sit
out on those fun days! We need to consider the safety
of the children. Also, please bring a change of shoes if
your child wears snow boots to school.
ONE Call
In case of school closings and other important infor-
mation a ONE Call will be sent to CDNS Families. If any-
one needs to be placed on that call list please stop in to
the Preschool Office and see Mrs. Schaffer.
Valentine’s Day Celebration
Valentine’s Day Celebrations will be held on February 14 and 15.
Please see the Parent Board (it’s been moved to right outside our
classroom) for the volunteer/help sign-up sheet. We are making
Valentine’s bags and will use them to decorate our bulletin board
in the hall. They will also be used to place Valentine’s cards in
from friends. If your child is going to bring in Valentine’s cards
please help them print their name on the card. There is no need to
put any child’s name on the envelope. The bags will have names
of each child on them and you can help your child place their Val-
entine’s in the bags of their friends. Please place your child’s Val-
entine’s to their classmates in the bags before February 14th. You
can do this before or after class.
Thank You
A great big thank you to those parents, grandparents, and siblings
that have volunteered to read to the class. The children have real-
ly enjoyed it! With the busy activities of the holidays and Mother
Goose Day we did not ask for readers for several weeks. We will
begin our Parent Reader sign-up in February. If you would like to
volunteer to read, please sign up at the Parent Board. Thank you
also to those of you that have supplied us with paper towels,
Kleenex, zip lock bags, etc. We always seem to be in need of those
things. Again, if you are interested in helping us by supplying any
items just keep an eye on the Giving Tree on the Parent Board.
Thanks so much for everything!
Mrs. Deb Obergas & Mrs. Victoria Willer

Temple Talk
Hello Everyone! January went by fast this year, an-
other month already! The children have been so awesome
when we do Temple Talk. I am very proud of them and you
can be too. I hope they do share stories and their song with
you!
Our lessons this month will be ; Noah’s Ark, The
Transfiguration, Warm Heart Cold Heart and Abraham and Sa-
rah’s Visitor. Our song will be ”Jesus Loves the Little Chil-
dren”and our Bible verse will come form Proverbs 15:30 “ A
cheerful look brings joy to your heart.”
I also want you to mark your calendars for April
15th . The children are invited to sing for the St. Peter con-
gregation at the 10:30 church service. More info to follow.
Blessings
Mrs. Wagner
ST. PETER
February 14 is Valentine’s Day. Ever since December 26,
stores have been filled with pink and red decorations, cards with
hearts on the front, boxes of chocolates, and risqué or silly night-
wear. Yet we know that love—which February 14 professes to
promote—is not all hearts and roses and candy. Love can be hard
work. Just think of the last time your pre-schooler threw a temper
tantrum at the store. Of course, you still loved the little tyke, but
in that moment, it was probably hard not to throw a little temper
tantrum of your own!
Love can be hard work. Healthy marriages and healthy
families can be hard work. Yet there are those moments when we
know that all the work is worth it. When your child is sleeping like
an angel, when your spouse or partner says exactly the right
thing, when your friend keeps your secrets, then you know how
precious love is. And you rejoice that love is part of your life.
Yet remember that the love we feel for one another—for partner,
for children, for friend, for family—is but a shadowy reflection of
the pure, unconditional love God has for each of us. Revel in you
beloved-ness and know that God, your God, love you this day and
for all the days of your life.

February Songs and Poems
If You’re Happy and You Know It
If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands.
If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands.
If you’re happy and you know it, then your face will really
show it,
If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands.
(Repeat with stomp your feet, shout Amen)
Make New Friends
Make new friends but keep the old,
One is silver and the other’s gold.
A circle’s round it has no end,
That’s how long I want to be your friend!
Groundhog Day
(Tune: Where is Thumpkin)
Where is groundhog, where is groundhog?
Here I am, here I am!
Shadows on this sunny day
Frighten groundhogs away
Winter will stay, winter will stay!
Where is groundhog, where is groundhog?
Here I am, here I am!
My, oh my—a cloudy day.
I will stay out to play,
Spring is near, spring is near!
Count On Me Valentine
Let’s count Valentines
One, two, three
Let’s count Valentines
All for me!
Let’s count Valentines
Four, five, six
Let’s count Valentines
Match and mix.
Let’s count Valentines
Seven, eight, nine
Let’s count Valentines
I’m glad you’re mine!
My Valentine Heart
When I say I love you
(point to lips)
It comes from the heart.
(point to heart)
You hear it in your ear
(point to ear)
And it sounds very smart.
(point to head)
I love it when you’re proud of me
(stand very tall)
You say it all day long.
(stretch arms wide)
And when I hear you say it
(point to ear)
My heart sings a merry song!
(hands on heart)
