Tàrrega breaks the dawn silence with a beating heart in the square.
For 40 intense and uninterrupted hours, the heart played by
the artist Ada Vilaró invites you to join us there, amplifying our
own heartbeat. The public space connects us, it commits us to
be as we are: unique and singular. Thanks to the participation, a
collective light emerges that knows no walls, borders, boundaries
or differences. Come be part of this collective creation, sync your
heart with this proposal of activism, transformation, love and
commitment. A second, a minute, an hour, forty hours where we
will be in the square. Or all life. Come it is urGENTtolove!
Artistic and scientific project based on community participation
and specifically designed as the inaugural action for FiraTàrrega
2017. With the aim of diluting the boundaries, the artist Ada Vilaró
and scientist Josep Perelló propose a deployment that involves
individuals, associations and spectators in a research into love,
coexistence, respect and acceptance of others.
ADA vILARó & JOSEP PERELLó
urGENTestimar
OPENING ACTION
This is an activity of activities, a experience shared with people in the street
and composed of different rituals: eating, sleeping, walking, running,
watching... It invites the city and its inhabitants to stop their daily activities
and implement various moments of communion that allow us to put in
relation. A shared transformation of people, space and time.
The scientific research is displayed before, during and after the inaugural
action of FiraTàrrega, the three key moments in time: the previous work
with associations and groups in Tàrrega, launching a conversation group on
the network* and the experience of relationships between individuals in the
square during 40 hours that the staging lasts. The final result of the research
is an public exercise in knowledge and recognition that will continue in the
months following the artistic action.

The figure of the deceased is absolutely disturbing. After the execution of a
great uncle by Franco’s regime and the discovery of a personal letter from
the last years of his life, Carla Rovira proposes this play that goes from private
memory to collective memory. How to face the family memory in a state
forged in oblivion? What is the role of women and of mothers mourning and
silenced from this part of history? An exercise that begins with several lines
of thought: death, family, silence... An opportunity to talk, to discuss also
with the public in a physical and symbolic place for meeting, community,
overcoming, and spontaneous fiction.

A piece where urban and contemporary dance come together, with
performers from experimental techniques from urban roots, like Chey
Jurado or Lautaro Reyes. An analogy between the universe that is hidden
by the shyness of people and the unknown places and creatures in the
marine depths. An exercise in introversion that uncovers an exorbitant
force. Shyness, the fear of the unknown or intrigue are combined with a
Dantesque, dreamy and even surrealistic outlook.

A piece of street movement that presents the earth as a metaphor for
waiting and the switch to a new cycle. The fallow makes it possible to leave
the hurry, the obligations and gives us the opportunity to be, to wait for
something to happen. The fallow is resting, the need for change, airing to
come out refreshed and face everyday life anew. Entertainment is play. and
play is the fallow of the soul.

A mermaid invites us on a journey across the Mediterranean from three
aspects: words, music and images. An actress, a VideoDJ and three musicians
orchestrate a disciplinary stage polyphony made up of contemporary
sounds, statistics, real stories, folk music, stories and myths. A meeting
between theatrical craftsmanship and technology. A series of looks that
highlight the inability to grasp the living multifaceted contemporary reality
of the Mediterranean. A reflection on the tragedy of those who try to reach
the other shore and run into the sadistic logic of globalisation. A mirror that
confronts us with our idiosyncrasies and questions our origins and our use
of the collective secular legacy.

Inspired by those times when men and women join us to answer the
established power and build new ideals, this piece of street art is an echo
of revolutions that find their energy in chaos. An energetic hip-hop
dance show in which six dancers experience the liberation of the mind
through movement. A metal structure made of pitch, prison and place of
expression. It protects and exhibits. It retains and releases at once. A place of
confrontation and inspiration.A work that connects, inspires and destroys
to create something new.

Living in society does not mean that we share the same social realities.
Who are the oppressors, the oppressed, the powerful, those who suffer in
silence? How are preconceived ideas established, how do they affect us,
how are they perpetuated? Five artists from different urban dance groups
join together to claim hip-hop as a means of social expression. On the street
level, they share their questions with the audience, breaking the prejudices
that hinder the cultural diversity that the world needs.

Visual and sonorous journey of delirium, as a cathartic state, liberating
and destructive at the same time, a source of light and creativity. Through
geometry and repetition, and from the inner disorder that comes from the
clash between longings and reality, the body empties itself of confusion,
it unlocks, flows and projects itself, leading to the appearance of a frantic
movement that spreads out into the environment. A contemporary dance
choreography of conceptual and poetic roots that combines performance,
physicality, spatiality and sonority to build allegories in search of coherence.

A multidisciplinary “solo” physical show that combines circus, object
manipulation, movement, theatre, music and clowns. A tale inspired by the
story of “The chained elephant” by Jorge Bucay, posed as a metaphor for
mental frameworks that are self-imposed and that prevent us from growing
as persons. A plea against fear, preconceived opinions, social and cultural
constraints and impositions of any kind. A vindication of the capabilities

A unique experimental project that allows people from vulnerable groups
to become creators and stars of a stage experience. The show is the outcome
of an intense creative process that arose from a reflection on the refugee
crisis, a humanitarian disaster in the European Union, which has hijacked
the hopes of thousands of people who have had to flee their homes. A show
created with a poetic but realist outlook, a moving show, made by special
people.

Poetic and dreamlike journey, based on real events, where the company
reviews its show, Bouazizi, premiered in 2013. It presents the story of a
man whom everyone has heard of, but nobody knows his name. A myth
for millions of people, capable of igniting the net and triggering a wave of
revolutions. The video art, painting, theatre, live music and performance
merge into a brutal and explosive multimedia show that must be seen in
action through the 360° stage. To answer a big question of our time: if we
are all on the web, who is the spider?

What is success and what does it means for yourself and those around
you? After its success with Wasted, the company jumps into the stage pool
with a text by Mark Ravenhill, directed by Marc Salicrú, Anna Serrano and
Elena Martín. A visceral and powerful piece that talks about the fragility
of friendship, envy, success and the meaning of art in the lives of artists.
Dependence, toxicity, the value of getting away or getting close to each
other. Relationships between people in the circle of acquaintances. Fears,
ours and those that we project on others. A swimming pool that actually

The new proposal from the company Moveo is a performance of movement
that breaks the gap between the one looking and the one looked at, between
the one living and the one acting. The spectators are invited to emerge from
their passive status and to execute the movement. The work is conceived as
an exploration in three directions. First, the contrast between reality and
fiction, truth and lies, between actor and spectator. Secondly, relations-
hips between members of a social group: dependency, support, rejection,
attraction, etc. And third, the depiction of the invisible through that which
is the most visible.

both. A Chinese pole show. A reflection on the fragile condition of the hu-

renowned Portuguese company Teatro do Mar and a former student of the

On the basis of the concept of precariousness as a form of government, Ha-
rinera reflects on collective and individual responsibility before situations
of change. The work is placed in an empty urban space, a metaphor of the
lucrative real estate market that determines the future of a region and its
inhabitants. By means of stage devices and with the help of digital and ana-
logue technologies, it establishes a dialogue with citizens and spectators are
allowed to decide which direction should be taken by the outcome of the

This show is a real festival and the audience are the guests. A participative
dramaturgy, apparently crazy, that advances over a collage of stories and
reflections on what we are and what we aspire to be and on the path of some
characters that contradict the obsession with permanence. An x-ray of our
modern society where the people who do things coexist to be able to explain
them and those who do them because they couldn’t not do them. A project

On the 2nd of November 1975, a corpse appeared brutally beaten and run
over in Ostia. It was the filmmaker, poet and novelist Pier Paolo Pasolini, an
uncomfortable intellectual who had the ability to look where he should not.
This show proposes that we see just what we do not want to see, that which
causes discomfort, the unresolved: the last moment of his life. The piece aims to
recreate the scene of the crime so that the public can observe it from different
perspectives, analyse it and feel it for themselves, through a participatory
choreography, in order to feel, name and understand what still has neither
name nor sentence.

A sore is a wound. In the Middle East, it also means contempt. Refugees
dealing with mafias call themselves sores. In August 2015, a truck was found
abandoned on a motorway between Hungary and Austria with corpses of
refugees who had suffocated. Mahid can no longer go on with this business
and wants this to be his last trip. But things do not go as planned and
everything becomes more dangerous and bitter. Nafrat wants to make the
viewers (refugees) experience in themselves the odyssey of a desperate
escape.

commission by FiraTàrrega to this Uruguayan artist that has to do with a
critical look at farm land in the region. This work is inspired by the Vallbona
Manifesto, launched following the construction of the Segarra-Garrigues canal
and that presents a respectful look of humanistic inspiration at the region and
defends the settling of the local population, the enhancement of the agro-

A circus show where the protagonist is the tightrope. A groundbreaking
work that explores the tension through expectations and the relationship
we establish with the materials and the way we use them. From proximity,
the maximum simplicity, without tricks and with basic elements such as
paper, fishing line, water or fire, the audience participates in an artistic
experiment on the possibility, resistance and limits where the material
speaks for itself. The expectancy and (dramatic) tension are more than
ensured.

A brief piece that forms part of the choreography Sentinel, and that deals
with the four primary elements of nature: water, earth, fire and air. In this
extract, focussed on water, the different states, forms and textures that this
essential substance appears in are described and interpreted through urban
dance. This is an element that, like movement, can be liquid and adaptable,
solid and rigid, gaseous and volatile, that can flow, that can evaporate, that
can give life and that can even take it away.

A short street piece choreographed and directed by Asier Zabaleta based on
the reflection on how the labyrinths of lives of people interweave and how
this causes irreversible changes. Two young men from the same country but
very distant cities have had to travel 8,000 kilometres and several years to
find themselves on the other side of the world, make new acquaintances
and find everything that unites them. A work where the passion for dance
and the crossing of languages like break dancing and hip-hop reign to
reach a novel hybrid territory. Umore Azoka Award in 2017 for Best Street
Performance in the Basque Country.
After the successful and prize-winning experience of Oskara with La
Veronal, Kukai undertakes a new challenge to hybridise urban dance with
traditional Basque dance, hand in hand with Brodas Bros. Four young
people meet in the square. Music plays and they start dancing, naturally and
spontaneously. This is their way of expressing everyday life. The street is
the vital space that unites them. Dancing identifies them. Some performers
who, preserving their artistic origins and enriching each other, come
together in an absolutely lively and energetic choreography.

Before the storm, there is silence. Travelling percussive and fireworks

Powerful rhythms are interspersed with silence, creating a tension that does
not fade. At the end of the route, a set scene evokes a mountain of metal.

The new proposal by Nacho Vilar Productions is a itinerant street show that
takes us to Spain in the eighties, a time full of colour and the rediscovery of
freedom after 40 years of dictatorial darkness. Five people arrive from space
on a scientific mission. Their shuttle has a breakdown. These are the days of
the Movida, the Naranjito and the Totus Tuus. A period of permissiveness
that evokes nostalgia among those who lived through it. A moment filled
with curiosities that visitors from space and those who did not see this for
themselves discover with surprise.

There are things that don’t follow reason. How can nobody seduce the nei-
ghbour on the fifth floor, the girl who went punky or the hipster that runs
the barbershop around the corner? Rodrigo Cuevas is an Asturian compo-
ser, singer, accordionist and percussionist. A total artist. His populist star
lights up the suburbs of the counterculture. His authenticity unmasks any
imposture. With this concert-show, he offers an entertaining fun review of
his folk roots with a brilliant and sexy speech that blows away the conti-
nence of correction. His music is synth folk and tonada glam, in the purest
cabaret style. An amazing exercise with a wide array of flavours, echoes and
confluences.

An experience of intergenerational participation, integration, socialisation
and artistic expression. As if it were a game of architecture, the proposals
invites us to design and build your own miniature garden with different
materials. The sum of all small gardens, connected to each other, will give a

of unrepeatable colour. A magical opportunity to create and share.

proposal in the form of a participatory installation, which includes a space
walk at more than 80,000 km up. An experience full of sensations to enjoy
unbeatable views of planet Earth. A rocket to let your imagination fly ...
Children’s play and sensory experimentation. A play area for children from
0 to 4 years that has sound and music as the main protagonists. Different
musical instruments installed in wooden structures allow children to
manipulate and interpret them easily and naturally. The goal is for them to
play with sound, play instruments and approach musical language, doing
what the body tells them, to create authentic expressive works of art and
communicating what they couldn’t express in words.

In tune with the leitmotif of participation, FiraTàrrega 2017 presents
the exhibition # loveisinthefair focused on the experience related to
romance and/or sex that viewers have experienced in the context of the
Fair. During the summer an appeal has been made to compile graphic
and written testimonies of viewers to integrate them into the project
exhibition, which is curated by Xavier Garcia and that takes the form of:
1) An exhibition at the Sala Marsà de Tàrrega containing a large mural with
the photos sent by a public and an audio device where you can listen to a
selection of the best stories.
2) A presentation in the Jardinet del Vicenç (in front of the Sala Marsà)
where the public can listen to a selection of the three best stories by
visitors to the Fira.
FiraTàrrega has commissioned a series of illustrations from the artist Jaume
Ribalta Batalla that provides a visual and subjective look at the Fair in
general and the contents of the programme in particular. The result of this
process can be viewed in a virtual exhibition on the FiraTàrrega website
(www.firatarrega.com).

Au long
ces. Venez faire partie de cette création collec-
tive, synchroniser votre cœur avec cette pro-
position d’activisme, transformation, amour

hERmANOS PICOhUESO
Ningú no va als aniversaris a l’estiu p.36
Welcome to paradise p.19
The Legend of Burning Man p.20
Voyage poétique et onirique, basée sur des
événements réels, où la compagnie fait une
révision d’un ancien spectacle, «Bouazizi» de

Pool (no water) p.21

identifie. Des interprètes qui, en préservant
leurs origines artistiques et en s’enrichissant
mutuellement, s’unissent en une chorégraphie
vitaliste et absolument énergique
LA FEm FATAL
Anton i Polina p.48
Brève pièce de trapèze double d’une grande in-
canaille. Prix Zirkolika au meilleur numéro de
cirque 2016.
LA LICUADORA
Lúcidos p.37
Proposition de cette compagnie chilienne qui
fut présente à FiraTàrrega 2016 avec la choré-
graphie Frames.
My baby is a queen p.22
public est protagoniste. Radicalement interac-

catalanes (romances, duos comiques, arias…)

NAFRAT CO.

chanteur, accordéoniste et percussionniste as-
turien.
