Motor Starter Combinations – Overview
Cost savings
✔ The wide setting range and integrated tripping classes 10, 20, 30 substantially reduce the number of different types. This is a major benefi t for planning, project implementation, inventory and logistics.
✔ The low power consumption saves energy costs
✔ The low level of heat dissipation reduces cost of cooling or ventilation
✔ Temperature compensation of -25 to +70 °C prevents nuisance shut-down in response to changes in temperature and assures high precision and reliability

ABB has always been committed to the issue of protecting motors. After all, any overload to a motor used in an industrial plant can give rise to production downtime and repair work, all of which drive costs up to a level many times the expense of investing in reliable overload and motor protection.
Electronic overload relays protect the motor from:■ overload■ phase unbalance■ phase failure
Reliable motor protection
An electronic overload relay has advantages compared to a conventional thermal overload relay in a wider range of settings and temperatures and a higher accuracy. In addition, electronic relays can be used in standard motors and for heavy-duty start-ups. A complete range of electronic overload relays from 0,1A to 1250A with tripping classes 10,20 and 30 is available. Up from construction size E45DU the tripping classes 10, 20 or 30 can be selected directly on the device.
ATEX certifi cates are available for protection of motors in explosion areas.
These electronic overload relays are cost-effective – simply because you only need a few units to cover a wide measuring range. This delivers user benefi ts in terms of planning, inventory and service.
Another major advantage is the low power consumption, something which has a noticeable impact on energy costs and the cost of housings and cooling provisions.
