THE Brooklands Restaur-ant at Holiday InnBarnsley, has changed itsmenus to offer diners abetter variety of locallysourced dishes and valuefor money.

The four-star restau-rant’s menus have beenput together by new headchef Nick Georgiou, whohas built up a wealth ofculinary experience wor -king at restaurants inand around Yorkshire forthe past 27 years.

His aim at the Brook -

lands Restaurant, inDodworth, is to use asmuch local produce aspossible, securing thefreshest, quality ingredi-ents while supportinglocal businesses.

In addition he has intro-duced a Yorkshire themeto the Brooklands’ men -us, offering diners theopportunity to sampledishes from their homecounty.

The new Weekend Wineand Dine Menu servedFriday, Saturday and

Diners have the choiceof two courses for £19.50,or three courses for£22.50, both including aglass of house wine, pro-viding an affordablenight out for couples andgroups.

A selection of locallysourced meat dishes arefeatured on the menu,such as braised lambshank and home-madechicken kiev, as well asexciting fish and vegetar-ian options like red mul-let fillets and chilliflavoured ratatouille.

And the desserts don’tdisappoint either, withofferings of warm stickytoffee pudding for thosewith a sweet tooth, andlemon tart with berrycompote for fruit fans.

The restaurant’s Sun -day lunch menu alsooffers great value for

money with two coursesfor just £12.50 and threecourses for £14.95.

Meanwhile the Brook -lands’ seasonal lunch andà la carte menus are aspopular as ever andincluding the famous‘Barnsley Chop’.

The menus are greatexamples of the Brook -lands’ loyalty to localsuppliers with RoundGreen Farm deer, DenbyDale lamb, Easingwoldbelly pork and Silkstonechicken all on offer.

Meanwhile the dessertsinclude the Yorkshirecheese plate, a selectionof ice creams and sorbetsfrom Foss Field Farm andfavourites such as rhub -arb crumble and custard.

In order to cater for alltastes and requirementsNick has also introducedmore gluten and wheat-free dishes to the menus.

Blakes Lounge Barwithin the hotel is anideal venue for those

want ing a light bite orbar snack in modern andrelaxing surroundings.

Specials are changedseveral times a week andNick is currently workingon a special World Cupmenu for when the barwill be showing thematches.

And the hotel is bring-ing summer to its cus-tomers early by offeringYorkshire cream teas fortwo for just £9.95, servedbetween noon and 5pm inthe stunning lounge areaor Blakes Lounge Bar.

Lunch is served noon to2pm Monday to Friday,noon to 3pm Sunday.

The evening menu isserved 6.30pm to 9.30pmSunday to Thursday and6.30pm to 10pm Fridayand Saturday.

Blakes is open from11am to 11pm, with foodbeing served from noonto 10pm.
