The four-star restau- rant’s menus have been put together by new head chef Nick Georgiou, who has built up a wealth of culinary experience wor- king at restaurants in and around Yorkshire for the past 27 years. His aim at the Brook- lands Restaurant, in Dodworth, is to use as much local produce as possible, securing the freshest, quality ingredi- ents while supporting local businesses. In addition he has intro- duced a Yorkshire theme to the Brooklands’ men- us, offering diners the opportunity to sample dishes from their home county. The new Weekend Wine and Dine Menu served Friday, Saturday and New chef creates a stir Sunday nights, changes weekly to offer a variety of Yorkshire and season- al dishes. Diners have the choice of two courses for £19.50, or three courses for £22.50, both including a glass of house wine, pro- viding an affordable night out for couples and groups. A selection of locally sourced meat dishes are featured on the menu, such as braised lamb shank and home-made chicken kiev, as well as exciting fish and vegetar- ian options like red mul- let fillets and chilli flavoured ratatouille. And the desserts don’t disappoint either, with offerings of warm sticky toffee pudding for those with a sweet tooth, and lemon tart with berry compote for fruit fans. The restaurant’s Sun- day lunch menu also offers great value for money with two courses for just £12.50 and three courses for £14.95. Meanwhile the Brook- lands’ seasonal lunch and à la carte menus are as popular as ever and including the famous ‘Barnsley Chop’. The menus are great examples of the Brook- lands’ loyalty to local suppliers with Round Green Farm deer, Denby Dale lamb, Easingwold belly pork and Silkstone chicken all on offer. Meanwhile the desserts include the Yorkshire cheese plate, a selection of ice creams and sorbets from Foss Field Farm and favourites such as rhub- arb crumble and custard. In order to cater for all tastes and requirements Nick has also introduced more gluten and wheat- free dishes to the menus. Blakes Lounge Bar within the hotel is an ideal venue for those wanting a light bite or bar snack in modern and relaxing surroundings. Specials are changed several times a week and Nick is currently working on a special World Cup menu for when the bar will be showing the matches. And the hotel is bring- ing summer to its cus- tomers early by offering Yorkshire cream teas for two for just £9.95, served between noon and 5pm in the stunning lounge area or Blakes Lounge Bar. Lunch is served noon to 2pm Monday to Friday, noon to 3pm Sunday. The evening menu is served 6.30pm to 9.30pm Sunday to Thursday and 6.30pm to 10pm Friday and Saturday.
