DIESEL INJECTOR HYDRAULIC LEAK TESTING

j d f h d li l k ili iInjectors are tested for a hydraulic leak utilizing acalibration fluid that simulates diesel fuel. Thetest fluid is maintained at temperature andcirculated through the part fixture and the partseal head to normalize the part temperature.

The custom designed functional test system firstpurges the air from the part by circulating thefluid through the part and actuating the injectorsplunger. The part pressure is increased to a presetvalue and then isolated. The system detects theyleakage as a part pressure loss. Depending on thetype of part, a two cavity loss test and a gain testcould be performed. The system is calibratedutilizing a built in volume displacement device.
