Pingo ruines: ideale archieven
• Pingos ontstonden aan het einde van de laatste ijstijd onder permafrost condities.
• Na het afsmelten van de permafrost en de ijslens in de pingo ontstonden ronde afgesloten meertjes zonder in- of uitstroom van water.
