Media-contents page
• I opened up Quark and started a new project.
• I kept the page layout as A4 but changed the column amount to 3.
• This enabled me to have 3 equal columns for my contents page
I changed this to 3
• This was the starting point to my contents page
• 3 equal columns
• I added a shape all the way around my page.
• I used the colour codes from my front cover to use as the colour for my contents page. This was because I wanted to keep the same colour scheme.
• I added a main title by using the text box tool.
• I kept the same font as my front cover (Goudy Stout) but changed the colour to black.
• I added the magazine title by using the text box tool.• I put this underneath the ‘Contents’ title and made it
smaller so that it didn’t draw attention away from the contents.
• I used the same colour scheme as my front cover masthead by using certain colour codes.
• I used the shape tool to draw two boxes in the two side columns, making sure they were of equal width but not length.
• I used the margin guidelines to do this.
• I then filled them in with a solid white colour.
• I added two text boxes to the right hand column; within the white area.
• I filled the top box with a feature article title and information; to go under a image.
• I filled the bottom box with regular content.
• I kept the same font (Goudy Stout and Kalinga) and colour scheme as my front cover text.
• I also added a text box to the left hand column, covering the majority of the white area.
• I also kept the same colour scheme and font in this column as I did on the right and front cover.
• I used the thin strips of column as a guide for my page numbers.
• I used Kalinga font but made it bold and a size 12.
• I added two rectangle shapes to my page number columns, starting at the top of the white areas and going down to the bottom.
• I filled them in with the new colour I had created from my college title.
• I used the shape tool to create a box underneath the white area in the right hand column.
• This will later be used to hold text.• I kept the same colour fill as my page numbers so that it carried
on from that section.
• I added text to this box by using the text tool.
• I used the font Kalinga and used the colour codes from my front cover.
• I added all of these images by using the image tool
• I drew out the image box for each one, right clicked and selected ‘import’.
• I then chose the appropriate images.
Finished contents page
I added a page number at the bottom of the page using the Kalinga font
