Christmas Markets are where the romance of the holiday comes alive in grand tradition—smells of gingerbread and roasting sausages waft through the winter air, handmade ornaments adorn ancient trees, master glassblowers and other artisans ply their handicrafts in wooden stalls, shoppers bustle past Gothic church facades and half-timbered houses, pausing to sip their heavily spiced and mulled 'glo' wine. From Budapest to Vienna, these historic markets specialize in handmade crafts, other holiday treats and of course the Christmas spirit! The Danube River Cruise! We are pulling out all the stops, so that you enjoy a journey of a lifetime and come home with beautiful memories.

23 December’ 13 - Day 1: BUDAPEST – EMBARKATION at 3pm. Arrive in Budapest, Hungary and transfer on your own to your luxurious river cruise ship AmaCerto, which is moored near the city center. The ship boarding is at 3pm. Once boarded we will take part in the Captain's cocktail & dinner and enjoy a musical performance on board. Thereafter the ship will cruise in the night around the historic sites of "Buda and Pest", so that you can enjoy the fabulous ‘by night’ views. This will be for an hour from 9.30 to 10.30pm. We will then lay anchor for our first night on board the beautiful cruise ship. Meals: Dinner

24 December’ 13 - Day 2: BUDAPEST, HUNGARY This morning, after breakfast we explore Budapest. Your Budapest sightseeing includes Buda and Pest. From historic Buda Castle, a splendid view of the twin cities of Buda and Pest is spread over both banks of the River. Your tour also features the distinctive Fisherman's Bastion, the marvelous Royal Palace and St. Stephen's Basilica. You have the balance of the day to explore the Christmas markets before cruising to Bratislava & Vienna, the ship sails at 5 pm today. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner 25 December’13 - Day 3: BRATISLAVA (SLOVAKIA) - VIENNA (AUSTRIA) This morning we arrive at Bratislava – the capital of Slovakia at 9AM. Bratislava has a very pleasant medieval inner city with narrow, winding streets, a hill-top castle next to the river Danube, and many historic churches and buildings to visit. You have your choice of two tours today. The first option is a walking tour of the city’s major sights, including the Old Town Hall, the stunning Mirbach Palace and Gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral. In the alternative, choose a “Communist Tour” that includes architectural

landmarks such as the Radio Building, Liberty Square and the Soviet War Memorial. Later, you will have some free time before the ship cruises to Vienna, the music capital of the world at 12.30AM. After dinner, enjoy an optional Mozart and Strauss concert in one of the great formal concert houses of Imperial Vienna, such as the Hofburg Palace or Palais Auersperg.Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

26 December’13 - Day 4: VIENNA, AUSTRIA This morning, start your excursion with a driving tour of Vienna including the impressive Vienna Opera House, the majestic Ringstrasse, and the awe-inspiring St. Stephen’s Cathedral, followed by a walking tour of the city center. Afterwards, spend some time enjoying the festivities of the Christmas Markets at the Town Hall. This afternoon, you can join an optional tour to the Imperial Schönbrunn Palace, which features over 60 Christmas Market stalls and provides a spectacular festive atmosphere with the aroma of Glühwein and gingerbread. In the alternative, you can stroll along the Kärntnerstrasse and stop to sample Vienna’s famous pastries. After dinner, experience a traditional “Viennese Wine and Music” evening in a wine village near Vienna. Enjoy the year’s newest vintage, surrounded by music and hospitality. We sail away from Vienna at midnight. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

27 December’13 - Day 5: DURNSTEIN – MELK Durnstein (Arrival: 07:30 am – Sail: 01:00 pm) & Melk (Arrival: 04:00 pm – Sail: 09:30 pm) This morning, cruise through the narrow Strudengau and reach Durnstein in the Wachau Valley. This is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the Wachau region and also a well-known wine growing area. Here you will take a walking tour along the town’s medieval cobblestone streets, passing by 16th century town houses and wine taverns. Marvel at the magnificent blue façade of the baroque Stiftskirche. Your tour will also include a wine tasting at a local vintner, where you will enjoy several different wines, presented along with bread, knowledgeable hosts, and plenty of laughter. The ship arrives in Melk this afternoon, where you will tour the spectacular Melk Benedictine Abbey, one of Europe’s largest Baroque monasteries. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

28 December’13 - Day 6: LINZ Arrival 08:00 am – Sail: 23:59 pm This morning we arrive at Linz, the third largest city in Austria and the capital of the federal province of Upper Austria. The tourist slogan of the city is "In Linz beginnt's" ("It starts in Linz"). Linz is remarkable for possessing a sizable "Altstadt" (old town), for featuring a rich cultural life with numerous museums and festivals, for being situated in an attractive landscape characterized by the Danube and delightful hills, while it is at the

same time an economically vibrant and busy industrial city with huge steel and chemical works. The city hosts its annual Ars Electronica Festival; an international festival for Electronic Art. You can soak in the spirit of the season by visiting the beautiful Christmas markets. Your walking tour will take you along the Landstrasse to the city’s main square. You will see St. Mary’s Cathedral, the Marian Column, Landestheatre and St. Martin’s, the oldest church in Austria. Post lunch you have the choice of opting for any of the three excursions visiting Cesky Krumlov, Salzburg or the Austrian Lake District. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

29 December’13 - Day 7: PASSAU – VILSHOFEN (GERMANY) Passau (Arrival 08:00 am - Sail:12 noon) & Vilshofen (Arrival 3.00 pm - stay overnight) This morning we arrive in Passau – Bavaria, Germany, situated at the point where the river Inn and the river Ilz meet the Danube, and for this reason it is often called the "City of Three Rivers". Passau is known for its historic buildings, its university, and its location at the confluence of the three rivers and the last German train station before entering Austria. Your city tour takes you on an exploration of this fairy-tale city founded more than 2,000 years ago. Highlights include St. Stephan’s Cathedral, home to the largest cathedral organ in the world.

We then continue our cruise to Vilshofen. Vilshofen is located in the southern part of the Bavarian Forest and on the banks of the Danube. Wedged in tightly at the water's edge, the old part of the town with its closely-built houses stands out on a pointed piece of headland between the Danube and the Vils, giving the impression from the opposite bank of a floating island. The imposing twin towers of the Bendictine abbey Schweiklberg reign over the town. Vilshofen is a charming 1200-year-old Bavarian town on the confluence of the river Vils and the Danube. Here you’ll enjoy “Oktoberfest” in Vilshofen. Relax at long tables and benches, sampling local food and beer accompanied by Bavarian folk music, song and dance. We then spend our last night on the cruise ship. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

30 December’13 - Day 8: VILSHOFEN – MUNICH – INDIA Disembark - 12:00 noon This morning, after breakfast we disembark from our cruise ship at Vilshofen. Our coach will transfer you to Munich airport for your return flight to India. (Option of departure transfers: 07:00 am & 11:00 am) Meals: Breakfast
