The ruins of Dürnstein Castle, which served asa prison to England’s Richard the Lionheart, can be seen on thehilltop. Later this morning, relax onboard as you cruise through thebreathtaking scenery of the Wachau Valley before arriving inEmmersdorf, the port for Melk. On an included excursion, visit themagnificent 900-year-old Benedictine Abbey, a UNESCO WorldHeritage Site, which boasts an opulent Baroque interior. Meals: B, L, D

On an included walking tour, stroll through the oldtown’s narrow alleys and see the hilltop Oberhaus Fortress from thetown below. St. Stephen’s Cathedral is a wonderful example ofBaroque architecture and home to Europe’s largest church organ with
