DAY 1: Tuesday, May14 – Depart the USADepart the USA on your overnight flight toBudapest, Hungary.
DAY 2: Wednesday, May 15– Arrive HungaryUpon arrival, transfer to the MS Emerald Sky,home for the next seven nights. The after-noon is at leisure to become acquainted withthe ship or begin exploring the city on yourown. This evening, enjoy a nighttime cruisealong the Danube, passing under the city’snumerous bridges, while enjoying a tradi-tional Hungarian welcome dinner completewith folk dancing and music. Meal: D
DAY 3: Thursday, May 16– Budapest, HungaryToday’s included tour presents you with a fan-tastic opportunity to become acquainted withHungary’s beautiful capital. See the HungarianParliament Building, Buda Castle and theChain Bridge linking Buda and Pest. Or if youchoose, set off on an exciting guided hike toBuda Hill. DAY 4: Friday, May 17– Bratislava, SlovakiaThe day begins with an included walking tourof Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. See theenchanting Old City with its Main Square,Town Hall, Mirbach Palace and the GothicCathedral of St. Martin. After lunch onboard,a highlight of the day will be a home-hostedvisit where you are treated to coffee and cakein the home of local Slovakians. DAY 5: Saturday, May 18– Vienna, AustriaDiscover all Vienna has to offer with an in-cluded orientation tour. Travel by coach to
the city center and drive along the Ringstrasseto see the impressive Opera House, famousconcert halls, stately architecture and historicmonuments. Afterwards, your guide leads youon a walking tour through the city center.This afternoon, join an optional excursion toBelvedere Palace. This evening, join an op-tional excursion to a musical concert in one ofthe famous music venues of the city. Meals: B, L, D
DAY 6: Sunday, May 19– Dürnstein and MelkAwaken this morning in the medieval town ofDürnstein – ‘The Pearl of the Wachau Valley’ -dominated by the magnificent Baroque Stift-skirche. The ruins of Kuenringerburg Castle,which served as a prison to England’s Richardthe Lionheart, can be seen on the hilltop.You’ll have free time in to discover the charmsof this picturesque town. Later this morning,enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the WachauValley while cruising along the Danube beforearriving in Emmersdorf, the port for Melk.On an included excursion, visit the magnifi-cent 900-year-old Benedictine Abbey, a UN-ESCO World Heritage Site, which boasts anopulent Baroque interior. DAY 7: Monday, May 20– Salzburg, Austria (optional excursion)OR Passau, GermanyFrom a brief stop in Brandstatt, depart on theoptional excursion to Salzburg to see sightsfrom The Sound of Music and walk along thefamous Getreidegasse Lane past Mozart’sbirthplace. After some free time, the coachreturns to the ship in Vilshofen. Those notjoining the optional excursion will have anincluded walking tour in Passau to explorethe narrow alleys and visit St. Stephen’sCathedral, home of Europe’s largest pipeorgan, and rejoin the ship by coach in Vil-shofen. DAY 8: Tuesday, May 21– Regensburg, GermanyAfter breakfast, explore Regensburg on aguided walking tour. During a stroll throughthe historic center, a UNESCO World Her-itage Site, experience its beauty and historyfirsthand. Travel by coach to Kelheim to re-join the ship and continue sailing to Nurem-berg. Meals: B, L, D
DAY 9: Wednesday, May 22– Nuremberg, GermanyAfter breakfast, disembark the ship and enjoya panoramic tour of Nuremberg. Your localguide will explain the importance of this cityduring the war as you pass the courthousewhere the Nazi War Trials were held. Uponarrival in the city center, begin a walking tourthrough the Altstadt (old town). The guidewill lead you through this medieval city asyou pass the amazing architecture, fortifica-tions and stone towers from past centuries, in-cluding the Schöner Brunnen – Nuremberg’sstar attraction: the gilded ‘Beautiful Fountain’with its tiers of intricately carved figures. Atthe end of the tour, free time is provided forlunch on your own prior to the journey toPrague for a two-night stay. Meals: B
DAY 10: Thursday, May 23 – PragueAfter breakfast, an included tour highlightsthe famous sites of this beautiful city. SeeOld Town Square with its astronomical clockand the medieval Charles Bridge.
