    K-12 Chess Tournament Participants: Congratulations to students from partnering institutions who participated in the 20th Annual Beau Hardeman K-12 United States Chess Federation - Chess Tournament held on May 2nd at the Gresham Park Recreation Center. This tournament was a city wide invitation only event!

    Georgia Perimeter College Quad Chess Tournament Participants: The GPC Leadership Academy Chess Club, Clarkston players participated in a USCF Quad Chess Tournament on April 5th at Emory University.

    Each player brings their recorded games to the weekly chess sessions to review and critique with our insturctor. Checkmate Chess Academy encourages all students to participate in rated tournaments and it reinforces time management skills, critical and analytical thinking, concentration, competitiveness and learning of algebraic notations. All participating students received a USCF rating. Players names and ratings can be viewed at www.uschess.org
