WELCOMING GREETING Liza Stoltz Hanson
ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF COUNTRY (An act towards reconciliation)
For thousands of years Indigenous people have walked on this land. Their relationship with the land is at the center of their lives.
We acknowledge the Cheyenne, Arapahoe and all Native people and their stewardship
of this land throughout the ages.
*HYMN “Hey Adam” Mandolin Orange
*INVOCATION Doug Collins, Liturgist
Leader: This is the time to let go of that crazy notion that we can live separate and aloof from one another. ALL: We create a web of life. Leader: This is the time that we can be real with each other and acknowledge our mutual belonging. ALL: We create a web of life. Leader: And we create a web of life out of which every single one of us can use everything our stories have given us. ALL: We create a web of life. Leader: A web of life is created within which you can rest in the comfort of connection. ALL: We create a web of life. Leader: Because out of that you can act. Out of that, all power is yours. Out of that, you travel light. Out of that, you can step forward. ALL: We create a web of life. Amen. ANNOUNCEMENTS Liza Stoltz Hanson

Summer Book‐Read: Americanah by Nigerian Author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie This summer UPUMC will have a book‐read and discussion of the very popular Americanah. It’s recommended for its honest observations of migration and racism by 2 migrants from Nigeria to the US and UK. Its popularity is also due to being a well written and entertaining story. Americanah is a national best seller and has received numerous awards, plus it’s
a UMW’s recommended book for Social Action. We’ll meet 2 more times this summer: Thursday evenings, 6:30‐8:00 pm, July 9 and August 13 @ UPUMC. We’ll start with a video and then a discussion. Participants are expected to bring their own copy of the book. FYI, the Denver Public Library is out of copies. Carol Jansch and Susan Livingston will facilitate and you can contact them with questions. Carol Jansch 303‐758‐0410 /Susan Livingston (720‐480‐8762). KIDS CANS FOR KIDS – BRING THOSE ALUMINUM CANS! Our latest can redemption for 2015 resulted in 78 pounds worth $31.20 for aluminum cans and other miscellaneous metals; for a total of $263.40 thus far this year. We will continue to send these funds to the
Children’s Hospital Chaplaincy Department to supply Bibles for patients and their families including Spanish Bibles and to supply other reading materials for their mobile interfaith book cart. NOTE: Contributors please separate different types of metals as Atlas Metal & Iron Corp—the recycle establishment we use—requires that the different types are separated, weighed and valued individually.

Was it you that was slipping’ out the back door
When you thought I wasn’t home Could you leave me in good conscience
To wander all alone
Oh woah oh oh oh woah oh woah oh
Wide awake and searching in the shadows All the places where we’ve been
The walls aren’t giving any answers And the silence never ends
Oh woah oh oh oh woah oh woah oh Oh woah oh oh oh woah oh woah oh
So leave me with dreams that haunt me These tears taste so melancholy sweet Here in the darkest hour I’ll find you
Even after everything is gone
I remember everything you taught me Like the faintest scent of June
How the lilacs always seemed to follow When you walked into a room
Oh woah oh oh oh woah oh woah oh Oh woah oh oh oh woah oh woah oh
So leave me with dreams that haunt me These tears taste so melancholy sweet Here in the darkest hour I’ll find you
Even after everything is gone
Oh woah oh oh oh woah oh woah oh Oh woah oh oh oh woah oh woah oh Oh woah oh oh oh woah oh woah oh Oh woah oh oh oh woah oh woah oh
So leave me with dreams that haunt me These tears taste so melancholy sweet Here in the darkest hour I’ll find you
When it seems you’re lost, you’re there to guide me through Within the end of this love is sun
Even after everything is gone Even after everything is gone
1. Hey Adam, our secret's safe But I hope the world will learn
Go tend to Eve in the garden, crying But pay attention to these words
If it ain't fear that holds us It's fear that tears us down
Down and I have come to tell you now Chorus
That our Father loves you always
2. Well you may spend a lifetime and many more by her hand Reassuring the blind ones
calling our love sin
Well many flames are rising And many hearts will die
Well I am lying in your shadow but I know you'd rather lay by my side
Chorus That our Father loves you always
3. Some grow weak in anger Few grow weak in pain
Whose eyes are holding, tell me Whose mind is sane?
Hey Adam, our secret's safe But I hope the world will learn
Go tend to Eve in the garden, crying But pay attention to these words Our Father loves you always
Chorus That our Father loves you always
