Notes from the President
Are you taking full advantage of client/patient testimonials? If not, you’re missing an opportunity to build your loyal newsletter following and increase business. People like to hear what others have to say about you.
So how do you collect testimonials if you haven ’t ever paid attention to this in the past? There are several areas you can look at to collect these favorable comments:
1. Look through past emails/letters that a patient or client sent you thanking
you for your service. Send them a quick note to get permission to use their
comments in your newsletter or web site.
2. Use Social Media sites to gather comments from others. Your Facebook
and Twitter sites will often have comments made by friends. Again, always
ask permission to use the comments.
3. If you have a blog on your web site, check there for comments from others.
4. If you are a law firm, routinely ask for feedback and comments at the close
of a case. Make it part of your process.
5. If you are a medical practitioner, train your front desk to spot happy people
as they are waiting to see you or on their way out. Have a form available
that they can fill out and sign to give you permission. Your front office staff
is often very tuned in to who is feeling good about their visit.
6. Every time someone compliments you, get in the habit of asking them if
they would put that in writing to use as a testimonial. People are flattered
that you asked and are usually happy to do it.
It’s not hard to get testimonials, you just need to be aware of it and actively think about it. Put it on your radar to look for opportunities to gather testimonials. You’ll be surprised how quickly you can build a testimonial collection.
Recent Events:
The Top Practices Summit was truly awesome. We visited the office of Dr. Peter Wishnie, Family Foot & Ankle Specialists, in Piscataway, to see firsthand how a successful top podiatry practice runs. It was an impressive visit not only for all of the other podiatrists in attendance, but also for vendors and other business people who participated. Dr. Wishnie emphasized the need for every
office to have documented processes to make everything run efficiently on a consistent basis.
Rem Jackson led the remainder of the conference with goal setting techniques and concrete plans for how to accomplish your goals. The sessions were filled with information about targeted marketing, web site design and search engine optimization, social media, hiring practices, and other pertinent information you can use to grow your practice.
Check out photos from the Summit on Facebook.
The PILMMA conference was held at the beautiful Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. The conference was outstanding − jam packed with speakers and topics to help law firms manage and market their practices. It was a great networking opportunity and everyone left full of ideas to implement to make their business grow.
An added bonus was a “Dancing With the Stars” − type dance
competition going on down the hall, complete with costumes and amazing dancers. It made the breaks very interesting!

This was our first time at the AAPPM conference at the amazing Lago Mar resort in Fort Lauderdale. The conference was top notch and extremely well organized. We had the opportunity to see many of our clients (which is always a treat for us) and to meet many potential new clients as well. Our thanks to Hal Ornstein for inviting us to attend … we look forward to many more.
