ɘ Before using the tumble dryer for the first time, ensure that it is correctly instal-led and connected.
If the tumble dryer has not been trans-ported as described in the operating ins-tructions, then it must be left to stand for at least 1 hour before it is connected to the electricity supply. Otherwise the heat pump can be damaged.
It is essential to read the operating instruc-tions.
Energy saving tips
To avoid unnecessarily long drying times and high consumption of energy:
– Make sure your laundry is spun at the maximum spin speed before drying.
– Load according to the optimum amount of laundry recommended for the programme being used. Under-loading is uneconomical. Overloading gives poorer quality of drying and may cause unnecessary creasing.
– Clean the fluff filters in the door and in the door opening after every drying cycle.
– Make sure the room temperature is not too high. If there are other heat produ-cing appliances in the room in which the tumble dryer is located, make sure the room is well-ventilated and switch the other appliances off, if possible.
1. Notes on correct laundry care ɘ Remove foreign objects like detergent dispensing
devices from the laundry. They can melt and damage the dryer and the laundry.
ĺ Sort the laundry according to the type of fibre and weave, size, garment care label symbol and the drying level required.
ĺ Disentangle the laundry. ĺ Check seams and stitching to ensure that padding and linings are intact.
ĺ Fasten duvet covers and pillow cases to prevent small items from being rolled up inside them.
ĺ Fasten hooks and eyes. ĺ Tie together textile belts and apron ties. ĺ Sew in or remove underwiring from bras.
1 Condensed water container – empty after every drying programme

Do not iron
Tips on drying – Always observe the maximum recom-mended loads given in the "Programme chart".
ɘ Overloading can cause unnecessary wear and tear to the laundry, give a disap-pointing drying result and cause more creasing.
– Do not load the drum with items that are still soaking wet. Make sure your laundry is spun at the maximum spin speed before drying.
– Minimum iron fabric tends to crease more, the larger the load. This is parti-cularly the case for garments made from very fine weave fabric, such as shirts or blouses.
2. Loading the tumble dryer ĺ Press the button to switch the dryer on. The interior drum lighting will come on.
ĺ Open the door. ĺ Unfold the laundry and load loo-
sely into the drum.
Do not overload the drum. Over-loading can cause unnecessary wear and tear to the laundry, give a disappointing drying result and cause more creasing.
ɘ If you are not using a fra-grance flacon: the tab must be pushed down completely (see arrow).
ɘ When closing the door, make sure that laundry does not get trapped in the door opening.
ĺ Shut the door with a gentle swing.

Mixed items
If you want to dry a mixed load, you can select from a list of 19 different items. The dryer will use the list to select the correct programme setting.
Selecting Extras (if required) ĺ Touch the Extras sensor. – Freshen up You can use the Freshen up option to help remove or reduce odours in clean (dry or damp) clothing.
– Eco The compressor power is reduced which saves energy. This causes the pro-gramme duration to increase.
– Anti-crease The Anti-crease phase reduces creasing if you do not wish to remove the laundry immediately after the end of the pro-gramme.
– Auto load control This Extra enables you to reduce the load stated in the "Programme chart", thus shortening the programme duration and optimising the drying process.
– Gentle tumble Delicate fabric (with the symbol on the care label, e.g. acrylic garments) is dried at a lower temperature. The programme duration is longer.
– Turbo This Extra reduces the drying duration. Only robust fabric should be dried using this Extra.
Selecting Delay start (if required) ĺ Touch the Start at sensor.
Starting the programme ĺ Touch the flashing Start/Stop sensor. The Start/Stop sensor will light up.
Tip: To save a programme to Favourite pro-grammes: ĺ After the programme has started, touch the Save sensor.
ĺ Please read the information under "Favourite programmes" from "2. Ente-ring a name".
4. Removing the laundry at the end of the programme
At the end of the programme: Anti-crease or Finished will light up. The Start/Stop sen-sor will no longer be lit up. – To save energy, 10 minutes after the end of the programme the Start/Stop sensor will begin to flash slowly and the display will go out.
– The tumble dryer switches off automati-cally.
ɘ Do not open the door before the end of the programme.
ĺ Open the door. ĺ Remove the laundry.
ɘ Check that all items have been remo-ved from the drum. If items are left in the dryer, they could be damaged by over-drying when the dryer is next used.
If the dryer is switched on at the mains and the door is opened, the drum lighting will come on. It will go out a few minutes later to save energy. ĺ If the dryer is still switched on, switch it off with the button.
ĺ Clean the fluff filters. ĺ Shut the door with a gentle swing. ĺ Empty the condensed water container.
You cannot change to another programme once a programme has started (this pre-vents unintentional alterations). You will need to cancel the current programme before you can select a new one.
Cancelling a programme while it is running and selecting a new programme ĺ Touch the Start/Stop sensor. ĺ Confirm Cancel programme.
Wait until Programme cancelled lights up. ĺ Press the button to switch the dryer off.
ĺ Press the button to switch the dryer on.
ĺ Select and start a new programme stra-ight away.
Adding or removing laundry after a programme has started
ɘ Danger of burning: Do not touch the back of the drum when adding or remo-ving items. The drum and the items can get very hot.
ĺ Open the door. ĺ Add or remove items. ĺ Close the door. ĺ Touch the Start/Stop sensor to continue the programme.
Programme durationAltering the programme sequence can cause the programme duration shown in the time display to be adjusted.

Delay start Fragrance flacon Cleaning and care Problem solving guide
Quick Start GuideHeat pump tumble dryer
These short instructions are not a substitute for the operating instructions supplied with the appliance. Please read the operating instructions supplied with your tumble dryer before using it for the first time and take note of the Warning and Safety instructions, as well as the full descriptions on how to use your appliance.
Tip: Using a fragrance flacon (optional accessory) will add a pleasant fragrance to your laundry.
Before using a fragrance flacon, please read "Warning and Safety instructions - Using a fragrance flacon (optional acces-sory)" and "Fragrance flacon" in the ope-rating instructions.
Inserting a fragrance flacon1. 2.
3. 4.
Markers and must line up with one another.
5. 6.
ĺ Turn the outer ring clockwise a little.
Before drying ĺ Turn the outer
ring clockwise a little.
The further you open the flacon, the more intense the fragrance.
After dryingTo avoid the fragrance escaping needlessly:
ĺ Turn the outer ring anti-clock-wise until marker is in position .
If you want to dry laundry occasionally without adding fragrance: remove the fra-grance flacon and store it in its original packaging until you want to use it again. See the following section.
Before cleaning the fluff filters ĺ Remove the
fragrance flacon (reverse points 3 and 4) and store it in its original packaging.
Never lay the fra-grance flacon down on any sur-face as the fra-grance will run out.
Fluff filters
Removing visible fluff
Clean the fluff filters in the door opening after every drying cycle.
ɘ Remove the fragrance flacon (if fitted).
ĺ Pull the upper fluff filter forwards to remove it.
ĺ Use your fingers or a vacuum cle-aner to remove the fluff from the surface of the fil-ter.
ĺ Push the upper fluff filter back into posi-tion until it clicks.
ĺ Close the door.
Cleaning the fluff filters and air flow openings thoroughly
If the drying duration has become longer or the surface of the filters is visibly com-pacted with fluff, you should carry out the following cleaning procedure.
ĺ Pull the upper fluff filter forwards to remove it.
ĺ Turn the yellow dial on the lower fluff filter in the direction of the arrow (until you hear it click).
ĺ Hold the dial and pull the fluff filter forwards to remove it.
ĺ Use a vacuum cleaner with a long crevice nozzle attached to remove any visible fluff from the upper air flow openings.
ĺ Flush the fluff filters through with warm running water.
ĺ Shake the fluff filters thoroughly and then dry them carefully.
ɘ Ensure the filters are dry before repla-cing them. Wet filters could cause operati-onal faults.
ĺ Refit all of the fluff filters and close the door.
Checking the heat exchanger unit
ɘ Danger of injury! Do not touch the coo-ling fins. You could cut yourself.
ĺ Carefully vacuum up any visible fluff or dirt.
Refitting the plinth filter ĺ Fit the filter back
on the handle. Make sure it is the correct way round.
ĺ Insert the handle with the plinth filter attached over the two guide pins.
The word Miele on the handle must be the correct way up.
ĺ Close the heat exchanger access panel.
Plinth filterOnly clean the plinth filter when Clean out airways lights up.
To delete Clean out airways: Switch the dryer off and back on again or confirm with OK.
ĺ Press the round, indented area on the heat exchan-ger access panel to open it. The panel will spring open.
ĺ Pull the plinth filter out by the handle.
Removing the plinth filter will cause the right-hand guide pin in the dryer to come out. This pin ensures that the heat exchan-ger access panel can only be closed if the plinth filter is inserted the right way round.
ĺ Pull the handle out of the plinth filter.
ĺ Clean the filter thoroughly under running water.
ĺ Squeeze the water out of the plinth filter thoroughly.
ɘ The plinth filter must not be replaced dripping wet as this can cause a fault.
ĺ Use a damp cloth to remove any fluff from the access panel.
Emptying the condensed water container
Empty the condensed water container after every drying programme.
Empty the container will light up in the dis-play if the maximum level of the condensed water container is reached. To delete Empty the container: open and close the door while the dryer is switched on.
ɘ Close the door fully. Otherwise the door and the front panel of the condensed water container could suffer damage when pulling the container out.
ĺ Pull out the condensed water container.
ĺ To prevent water running out, hold it at the front and towards the back and keep it in a horizontal position when carrying it.
ĺ Empty the container.
ĺ Replace the con-tainer in the dryer.
ɘ Do not drink condensed water. It can cause health problems in people and ani-mals.
Selecting Delay start ĺ After selecting the programme, touch the Start at sensor.
ĺ Use the – and + sensors to set the time (minutes are set in blocks of 15 minutes).
ĺ Confirm each entry by touching the OK sensor.
Starting Delay start ĺ Touch the flashing Start/Stop sensor. – The time at which the programme will start automatically will appear in the dis-play.
– The drum will turn briefly every hour until the start of the programme to reduce creasing.
Changing Delay start after it has started counting down ĺ Touch the Change sensor. ĺ Touch the sensor which shows the pro-gramme start time.
You can either start the programme imme-diately or change the time: ĺ Touch the appropriate sensor to do this.
Adding or removing laundry before the programme starts ĺ You can open the door to add/remove laundry.
ĺ Touch the flashing Start/Stop sensor so that the time continues to count down.
Cancelling Delay start ĺ Touch the Start/Stop sensor. ĺ Confirm Cancel Delay start.
Problem/Fault message Possible cause and remedy
Code 000 lights up after switching on
Access via a code has been activated. You must enter the correct code to use the tumble dryer. See "Settings menu - PIN Code" in the operating instructions.
The programme is can-celled and the following lights up: Adjust the load.
In some programmes, if the drum has been overloaded or underloaded, the programme will be cancelled. This can also happen if the items are already dry. ĺ Open and close the door to resume drying. ĺ Use the Warm air programme (timed drying) to dry indivi-dual items.
It may be that the laundry is unevenly distributed or has rol-led up. ĺ Disentangle the laundry and remove a few items, if neces-sary.
ĺ Start the programme.
At the end of the pro-gramme, the following lights up: Information Clean out airways
There is a build-up of fluff in the airways. ĺ Clean the fluff filters and the plinth filter (see "Cleaning and care").
To switch off the message: ĺ Confirm with OK.
After a programme is cancelled, the following lights up: Empty the container Empty the container or check the drain hose
The condensed water container is full or there is a kink in the drain hose. ĺ Empty the condensed water container. ĺ Check the drain hose.
To switch off the message: ĺ Open and close the door while the dryer is switched on.
Information Fill the condensate container
This is to remind you that water is taken from the conden-sed water container when the Steam smoothing programme is being used. The condensed water container must be filled with water to at least the –min– marker. ĺ Confirm with OK. ĺ Open and close the door.
Information Please open and close the door
This it to remind you to load the laundry when the Steam smoothing programme is selected. ĺ Load the laundry in the drum.
Extra cooling The programme has finished but the laundry has not yet coo-led down. ĺ Either remove the laundry and spread it out to cool down or leave it in the tumble dryer to cool down during the coo-ling phase.
Problem/Fault message Possible cause and remedy
The dryer is switched off at the end of the programme
The tumble dryer switches off automatically. This is not a fault, but a normal function.See "Settings menu - Appliance switch-off status" in the ope-rating instructions.
The display is dark and the Start/Stop button is flashing slowly
The tumble dryer is in standby mode. This is not a fault, but a normal function. The drum will turn at intervals in the Anti-crease phase.See "Settings menu - Display switch-off status" in the opera-ting instructions.
The laundry is not suffi-ciently dry
The load consisted of different types of fabric. ĺ Finish drying using the Warm air timed drying programme. ĺ Select a more suitable programme next time.
Tip: You can alter the residual moisture level for some pro-grammes. See "Settings menu - Drying levels" in the opera-ting instructions.
Items made of syn-thetic fibres are char-ged with static electri-city after drying
Synthetic fibres tend to attract static charge.Static charge can be reduced by adding a fabric softener to the final rinse in the washing programme.
There is a build-up of fluff
Fluff is principally the result of friction when garments are being worn and to some extent when they are being washed. Machine drying hardly causes any fluff to form.Fluff is collected by the fluff filters and the plinth filter and can be removed easily.See "Cleaning and care".
There are humming noi-ses
This is not a fault. The compressor is operating. These noises are quite normal and do not indicate a fault.
