Mahila Melava i.e. seminar for women has been organized at the college premises by the
college in association with Malakpur Nagarpanchayat. The programme was organized on the
eve of death anniversary of Late. Premilatai Chavan. Late Premalatai is the mother of Shri.
Pruthviraj Chavan former Chief Mminister of Maharashtra.
On this occasion women residing in the vicinity of college, mostly of whom are house-wife.
Legal Awareness and Women Empowerment is the theme of the programme.
On this day boards describing Preamble and Fundamental Duties of Citizen of the
Constitution of India gifted to Malkapur Nagar Panchayat at the hands of Dr. Patangrao
Kadam and Hon. Prithviraj Chavan, Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Boards are prepared
under the scheme of Legal Services authority.
For this programme Hon. Dr. Patangrao Kadam Saheb (Founder of Bharati Vidyapeeth,
Pune) was present. He visited the college and inspected the records of the college. He
admired the work of the college and congratulated all the staff for their efforts.

On 31st July 2015, on the eve of GURU PORNIMA UTSAV the special programme has
been organized to felicitate our students selected as judge.
Dr. K. Subba Raman, Former Director of BVU‟s IMRDA, Sangli was the Chief Guest
of the function whereas Adv. A. Y. Patil, APP was the Guest of honour.
Our students Mr. Omkar Sane, Ms. Vinaya Desai, MS. Pranita Patil selected as JMFC
through MPSC.
One day Workshop was organized to impart different safety measures and techniques. In this
workshop different activities were included like LPG Gas safety, Ambulance service,
importance of blood donation and precaution and prevention of Snake bite.
For this programme following guests were present to guide us:

On the occasion of World Senior Citizens Day on 1st of Oct. The College had organized a
special programme on 1st Oct. 2015 for senior citizens in association with
Malkapur Nagar Panchayat, Malkapur. For this programme several senior citizens and
counselors were especially invited. The chairperson of this programme was Shri. Mohanrao
Kadam- Chairman of Sonhira Sugar Factory.
Along with several speakers such as Sau. Saunandantai Sathe- President of Malkapur Nagar
Panchayat, Sau. Rajlakshmi Shivankar- DY S P – Karad Police, Prof. Dr. Vijay Marulkar-
Emeritus Professor, Dept. of Sociology, Shivaji University, Dr. Shubhangi Mahajan, Dr.
Shrihari Deshpande, Sau. Vasundhara Patil – Former Principal- New Law College, Sangli
and many others.
Cell for Counseling and Advice to Senior Citizens has been inaugurated at the hands of Shri.
Mohanrao Kadam. Sau. Shivankar, Dy. S. P. - in her speech discussed about the safety
related issues of senior citizens and assured about the social security to elders.

the concept of Age Audit. He
requested to audience to make
age audit on regular basis. For
counting achievement and cost
paid for it, social and individual
satisfaction and Family
adjustment, etc. His valuable speech was very significant for all.
Sau. Vasundhara Patil in her speech elaborated the role of woman in family. She narrated
sacrifices that a woman makes for her family at the cost of her life and happiness. Every
family should respect the female member irrespective of her age.
Preran Saptah – January 2016
Every year we celebrate 8th
Jan. and 13th
Jan. as birthday of Honourable of Dr. Patangrao
Kadam Saheb and Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam respectively.
The college celebrate the week as “Prerana Saptah”. Prerana means an „inspiration‟. Dr.
Patangrao Kadam is the living legend of this era. He successfully proved that „sky is the limit.
He established the Bharati Vidyapeeth in the year 1964. Today it has spread over 180 +
institutions across the country and also abroad.
Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam is the young and dynamic leader leading the institute. His birthday (13
Jan.) also been celebrated throughout the institute.
Law College at Karad is the one of the small units of Bharati Vidyapeeeth. The college has
been named on former Dy. Prime Minister of India and very first CM of Maharashtra State
i.e. Shri Yashwantrao Chavan. College has tradition of organising different events for the
benefit of its stakeholders.
On 7th
Jan 2016 College has conducted National Level General Knowledge Test.
Every year examination was organised by Yashwantrao Mohite College, Pune. In our college
203 students have been enrolled for the examination whereas 128 were present.
This time the college devoted the programme on the theme of health. In this regard on
Tuesday, 12/01/2016 One Day Workshop on “Total Health Care- Ayurved Chikitsa” was
organised. For this programme Dr. Shruti Bhokare, M.D. Aurved and Dr. Suraj Kundale,
BAMS Jiyo Fresh Prukruti Ayurved, Karad was available as Speakers.
Programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp at the august hands of Chief guests.
Homage has been paid to Swami Vivekanand and Rajmata Jijau on their birthday and also to
Savitribai Phule.
One day workshop on “Stress Management” have been organised on Wednesday,
13/01/2016. On this occasion Dr. Anand M. Anuse was available as chief guest. Dr. Anuse
is a Psychiatrist working at Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College and Hospital, Sangli.
On Thursday, 14 January 2016 Rangoli and Poster Competition have been
arranged. For this competition the theme was * Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and
Senior Citizens Act, 2007 & * The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012.
Students are asked to draw rangoli and prepare poster describing varied provisions,
significance and utility of these Acts. Many students have participated in the competition.
Two of them have declared as winner.
Mother Tongue Day – 22 Feb 2016
To spread awareness and use of mother tongue „Mother Tongue Day’ is celebrated world-
wide. The state government issued circular to celebrate this Matru Bhasha Din by arranging
different functions and awareness programmes. In this regard the college have organized
different competitions to boost the use of Marathi language. Competitions like – Essay
Writing, Elocution, Rangoli, and Poster.
Women Day – 8th
march
On this occasion Dr. Shailaja Patil renowned Social Psychologist has been invited to deliver talk on
“Changing Life style of woman and its impact on her Psych”. In her speech Dr. Patil has nicely
elaborated the changing life style and changing fashion of woman both in rural and urban area. How
that style is affecting thinking process, emotions and patterns of life.
Mock Trial and Moot court activity
It is a practical orientation to students to enhance their Advocacy Skills like argumentation,
logical analysis, submission etc. Throughout year this activity is been conducted in the
college impart practical skills of advocacy.
In mock trial students are prepared to perform role of witness, advocate, court clerk. Students
enjoy this activity and acquire practical experience of standing in front of court of law.
Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony
Every year college organizes Prize Distribution and Farewell to last year students ceremony
at the end of academic year. This year on Saturday, 26th
March 2016 the ceremony was
organized. Adv. Milind Kulkarni- Assistant Govt. Pleader, Practicing advocate at Karad
Court was invited as Chief Guest of the function whereas Adv. Suryakant Mirje- Assistant
Govt. Pleader, Practicing advocate at Sangli Court was present as Guest of Honor.
On this occasion prizes were distributed to deserved students. Both guest have guided the
aspiring lawyers on different aspects of law practice.

Inspection Committee of Bar Council of India have visited the College on 4/4/2016 in order to
continuation of affiliation and recognition of the College. The committee was welcome by the
Principal Dr. Chavate. Presentation on behalf of college was made by M. S. Khairnar. Committee has
physically inspected the whole building, academic and financial records of the college. Committee
was quite satisfied with the library, infrastructure, records and achievements of the College.
